PROTECT YOURSELF, FAMILY AND PROPERTY
AVOID ELECTRICAL FLASH, CAUSING FIRE!
Note that amendments to South African Regulation Standard on domestic electric distribution boards and house wiring have been introduced regularly over the years for the purpose of firstly, safety to people and secondly, to property.
Methods of installing components and wiring a domestic distribution board 20 years ago, has improved since then.
It is to be considered, the distribution board components change in physical size. The tripping mechanisms for over current have also improved over the years.
If not checked or maintained regularly, it could have a detrimental effect on a person’s financial pocket.
The first picture shows reality in real life. A major electrical flash occurred in a distribution board.
Incorrect components and an incorrect wiring method was implemented by an electrician who did not work according to regulatory standards.
Second picture shows everything removed from the distribution board casing/box and wires labelled.
Third picture shows components installed correctly and wired to electrical standards.
Have you had an electrician carry out maintenance on your distribution board and check your wiring of your home, flatlet, barn, garage, etc. lately?
