A combination of maritime folklore and sea tales inspired the design of the Play Area at Ballito Junction. A Noah and the Whale meets Moby Dick oceanic adventure that lets the imagination run wild.
A large whale structure crashes through the waves, bringing a boat to shore that caught a lift on its back. Children can climb into the whale’s mouth, use red barnacles to climb up onto the boat and slide down the side, tunnel through the wave and take a swing from the whale’s tail.
The playful ocean theme is carried through with undulating wave patterns on the play surface, rubber covered domes mimicking large barnacles, coral shaped climbing poles and surfboard seating.
