Healthcare Infrastructure at Speed

Speedspace recently completed and commissioned a fully operational modular medical centre for Mokala Manganese Mine in Hotazel.

The project began with an urgent requirement for an on site medical facility to improve personnel onboarding and reduce delays caused by off site medical clearances. While the client initially requested a three week delivery programme, our team mobilised quickly and had all units delivered and positioned on site within the first week.

Following installation, internal fit out, electrical and plumbing works, and several layout adjustments to meet the medical team's requirements, the fully functional facility was completed and handed over during week four.

Delivered as a full turnkey solution, the customised 7m x 24m medical centre includes:

Supporting Mining Expansion with Smart Modular Solutions ⛏️

Speedspace was recently contracted to support a platinum mining client with the expansion of their underground mining operations through the conversion of 10 x 6m access control containers.

The project consisted of:

✔️ One-Tripper (new) containers
✔️ Custom cut-out sections
✔️ Interior and exterior painting
✔️ Durable rubberised flooring
✔️ Internal Electrics with Integrated camera system

In addition to the container conversions, Speedspace also supplied and installed the turnstiles, while the client's nominated contractor completed the biometric installations directly at our facility before delivery to site.
By coordinating the work off-site, the team was able to significantly minimise installation work within the highly restricted mining environment — improving efficiency, safety, and turnaround times.

Projects like this highlight the flexibility of modular solutions and the importance of collaboration between contractors to achieve a seamless end result.

Another successful project delivered!

We're proud to showcase the completion of a full turnkey modular project in KwaNobuhle, Port Elizabeth for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Over approximately two months, our team brought this vision to life, delivering a high-quality, fully functional space of around 280m².

This project included:

✔️ Full turnkey scope – air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, ceilings/roofing, painting, and sealing

✔️ Ablution facilities (male, female & disabled)

✔️ Administrative and bishops office units

✔️ Kitchen and technical rooms

✔️ Three classrooms for the children (28m² – 37m²)

✔️ And the standout feature, a beautiful 116m² chapel, forming the heart of the facility!

✨ A proud milestone for us, this is the first time in Port Elizabeth that a project of this scale has been built, and truly a one-of-a-kind development locally, especially with a chapel of this size.

We also supplied and installed fire-rated panels (30-minute compliance) in line with building regulations, ensuring both safety and quality standards are met.

This project forms part of a larger national rollout across Southern Africa, and we're proud to play a role in delivering spaces that truly serve communities.

The energy at Kings Beach was unforgettable as the Splash Festival brought together crowds, great weather, and a vibrant atmosphere over the Easter weekend.

It is a project we will not forget.
