Our client had been experiencing ongoing problems with two skylights and had reached the point where they were simply fed up with the constant issues. The decision was made to permanently remove both skylights and restore the roof properly.
Here’s how we tackled the problem:
✅ Removed both problematic skylights
✅ Closed and rebuilt the openings using matching roof tiles
✅ Installed a new 250-micron under-tile waterproofing membrane before reinstating the tiles
✅ Matched the existing roof tiles for a neat, seamless finish
✅ Repointed and re-cemented the roof ridges
✅ Applied a ridge and hip waterproof coating over the completed ridge work
✅ Restored the roof to provide a more durable, weather-resistant finish

Leaking Tiled Roof Repair in Randburg 🏠🔧
Another leaking tiled roof repaired by 7:24 Roofing in Randburg!
This roof had been experiencing ongoing water ingress, and after a detailed inspection, we identified a key issue: the roof had a very low pitch, which was causing wind-driven rainwater to become trapped behind the existing tile battens.
To properly address the problem, we:
✅ Removed the existing roof covering where required
✅ Supplied and fitted new 250 micron under-tile membrane
✅ Installed Radon Shield insulation
✅ Supplied and fitted counter battens to slightly elevate the tile battens
✅ Created a clear drainage path beneath the tiles
The counter-batten system allows wind-blown rainwater to reach the under-tile membrane and flow freely down the roof, rather than being obstructed by the tile battens.
This is an important detail when dealing with low-pitched tiled roofs — simply replacing tiles or sealing visible leaks doesn't always solve the underlying problem.

🚨 ROOF LEAK REPAIRS COMPLETED IN WATERFALL ESTATE, MIDRAND 🏠🔧
Ongoing damp and water ingress can often be caused by drainage problems that aren’t immediately visible.
At this Waterfall Estate, Midrand property, the client had been experiencing persistent damp coming through the wall. Our inspection uncovered a drainage issue behind the skylight and an additional outlet from the upstairs flat roof that was discharging water directly onto the patio roof.
🔧 What we did:
✅ Diverted the problematic drainage
✅ Blocked off the section behind the skylight
✅ Core drilled through the parapet wall and installed a new external outlet
✅ Blocked the internal downpipe on the patio roof that was causing the damp

✅ Painted the new outlet to match the existing wall colour
