At 7:24 Roofing, we recently completed a comprehensive restoration of a corrugated metal roof in Douglasdale, Sandton, ensuring long-term durability, improved weather protection, and a fresh, professional finish.
The project included the following work:
Removal of old roof fixings: We removed all existing roof fixings to prepare the roof for restoration.
Timber purlin inspection and replacement: We lifted the roof sheets to inspect the underlying timber purlins and repaired or replaced all rotten timber with new SABS-approved Grade 5 SA pine timber.
Rust treatment and sheet replacement: We treated the existing roof sheets with a rust converter and replaced all badly rusted sheets with new galvanised roofing sheets.
Full roof priming: As the existing roof had traces of old enamel paint and we were applying an acrylic roof coating, we primed the entire roof to ensure proper adhesion and a suitable surface for the new paint system.
Custom chimney flashings: We supplied and installed custom-fabricated back flashings to both chimney areas to improve waterproofing and prevent water ingress.
New gutter installation: We supplied and fitted new gutters to ensure effective rainwater collection and drainage.
Premium roof coating: To complete the restoration, we applied two coats of Excelsior Superior Satin Roof Paint, providing a durable, attractive finish and additional protection for the roof.
