Khulanathi Forestry was proud to participate in the Commodore Island Beach Clean-Up Campaign hosted by Green Chapter Foundation.

The day brought together industry leaders, community organisations, and passionate residents with one shared goal which is protecting and restoring our beautiful coastline.

At Khulanathi Forestry, we believe sustainability goes beyond business; it is about protecting the natural resources and tourism spaces that future generations will inherit. Initiatives like these are the foundation of a stronger environmental movement within the City of uMhlathuze.

Cleaning up our coastline is becoming a movement powered by partnerships, purpose and people who care about the future of our environment.

Preparations for the Commodore Island Beach Clean-Up are coming together beautifully, and this initiative would not have been possible without the support of the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry working hand in hand with Green Chapter Foundation to rally stakeholders around a common cause.

A special thank you to Grindrod Limited as the main sponsor of the campaign, alongside key partners including uMngeni-uThukela Water, FNB and Mzansi Enterprise for believing in the vision of cleaner and greener recreational spaces.

We are also encouraged by the growing number of organisations and businesses coming on board including Umhlathuze Tourism, Khulanathi Forestry , Foskor, EDTEA KZN, Tronox, PSN Travel Frenzy , 1MoNyt ZA, Netcare Akeso Richards Bay, Dockside Harbour Cruises, Uthando Solutions , RBIDZ Special Economic Zone and Uthungulu Community Foundation .

Khulanathi Forestry is proud to have attended the Focus on Forestry Conference held at Karkloof Country Club, hosted by CMO, Nelson Mandela University, and Forestry South Africa.

The conference was both insightful and inspiring, offering valuable pearls of wisdom from leading industry players such as Sappi, Afrequip, and Mondi, to name a few.

We gained a wealth of knowledge through engaging discussions and expert perspectives at this professionally hosted event, further strengthening our commitment to growth and excellence in the forestry sector. 🌱🌳

We value the open dialogue, the appreciation expressed for Mondi’s community visit, and the important discussions around ticket support and inclusive opportunities for emerging farmers.

Training Highlights 🧠🌱

Cherona Dannhauser, our South Africa Group Scheme Manager, delivered an in-person training session to the Mondi Zimele Khulanathi group. The session focused on equipping Resource Managers with the skills to confidently navigate and master member management functions on the Empower portal 💻📊

Key takeaways included:

- Accurate and effective management of member profiles 📋

- Creating detailed reports for both certified and prospective members 📈

- Pre-onboarding members ahead of field visits to improve efficiency 🌍

During the session, Cherona also encouraged the Khulanathi team to reflect on their 2026 vision, key challenges, and future opportunities. Practical solutions were captured, and the focus now shifts to implementing post-training strategies that will drive meaningful progress 🚀
