📢 How TBL Security Started — Our Story 💚🐾
Sometimes a business doesn’t start with a big plan…
Sometimes it starts with a German Shepherd, a neighbor, and a protective wife who’d had enough. 😅
Years ago, someone started giving our dog unwanted food with bones in it.
I didn’t like it one bit, so we decided to install a small CCTV kit to see what was going on.
After it was up, I turned to my husband and asked:
👉 “Do you think you’d be able to install CCTV systems to earn a bit extra cash?”
And that one question changed our lives.
My husband always jokes:
**“Our business started because you threw a mini tantrum.”** 😂
But honestly… it really started because we believed we could do more.
From that tiny CCTV kit, we grew.
Over the years, we worked through contractors assisting with **insurance claims on gate motors, alarms, air-conditioning units, CCTV systems, pump systems, and more**.
We learned EVERYTHING from scratch — with hard work, late nights, and pure determination.
Eventually, we stepped into working **directly with insurance administrators**, handling technical assessments, fault finding, and professional reports — and we’ve been standing strong ever since.

A big part of our growth came from the skills we brought with us:
🔥 **Marthinus** entered the business with **10 years of hands-on working knowledge in the security sector**, understanding risk assessments, installations, and technical problem-solving long before TBL Security even existed.
💼 **I** brought **9 years of bookkeeping, sales, and administrative experience**, giving our business structure, organization, customer communication, and a strong financial foundation from day one.
Together, we mixed technical skill with business management — and that’s been one of the biggest reasons for our success.
