I started Imbertech in 2022 as a passion project on the side. Changed direction three times since then, every time because I realised what I was building wasn't what businesses actually needed.
This Wednesday, someone I've never met filled in the contact form on the site. My first one. I got excited, then nervous, then excited again. If you've ever put something of yours out into the world, you probably know that exact feeling.
The focus hasn't changed through any of the pivots: help businesses save money and time. That matters more now than ever, whether you're a startup watching every penny, or an enterprise staring down another licence renewal that's climbed 15% since last year.
Today I'm proud of where we landed.
The site now has a free calculator that maps 290+ proprietary software tools to their open source alternatives with ZAR pricing. Sector pages too, for around 19 different industries. Your typical stack is already priced on there.
All I'm really asking is that you go have a browse, or run your tools through the calculator. I reckon you'll walk away with something useful, even if you never spend a cent with us.
