Double Glazing
Double glazing is when there are two panes of glass that has a gap in between that is filled with air. Glass gaps are standard between 6mm, 12mm and 16mm. Double glazing significantly improves energy efficiency in your home as they can improve your insulation by up to 50 percent. You will rely much less on heating or cooling.
One advantage of double glazing is that it does more than just make the interior temperature more comfortable. It can also significantly reduce noise transmission and this can be very valuable if you live in an area with traffic noise, loud neighbours, or other sources of noise that can affect your enjoyment at home. Double glazing is also more secure than standard glazing as it is harder to break, and you will virtually eliminate any problems with condensation (caused by warm air hitting cold glass). Adding a low-e glass to a double glazed unit further improves its efficiency
