A surf shack, but make it a serious upgrade.

Textures, colours, natural materials and that unmistakable feeling of slowing down.

This beach house has been quite the transformation — taking what was and turning it into something that feels relaxed, considered and full of character.

Still a little surf shack at heart. Just with a whole lot more comfort, soul and thoughtful detail.

The kind of place that makes you want to kick off your shoes, open the doors and stay a little longer.

We think this one is going to give all the feels.

New signage, same studio.

A small detail, but one that makes our space feel a little more ours.

Our new R.Studio signage is going up — slowly bringing the identity of the studio into the physical space we work from every day.

Architecture is often about the details that make a place feel considered. Sometimes, that starts right at the front door.

Honouring what came before. Heritage architecture is about more than preserving old buildings.

It’s about understanding what is there, respecting its history and character, and finding thoughtful ways to allow it to evolve.

This drawing is one small glimpse into that process — the conversations, revisions and careful decisions that happen long before a project takes shape on site.

It’s all about the light and views!

Windows, shadows, reflections and glimpses of what lies beyond.

As nears completion, we’re starting to see the little moments we imagined during the design process — sunlight moving across surfaces, views being framed and filtered, and screens creating just enough distortion to make you pause.

Three weeks to go… and we’re loving watching this one come together.

A morning at Klay. Good architecture starts long before the building site.

We spent the morning getting behind the scenes at Klay — seeing where the products come from, exploring their different ranges and getting a better understanding of what’s possible.

For us, these visits are about specifying with intention — knowing the materials, understanding the options and being able to make informed choices for our projects and clients.

Because sometimes the best part of the design process is getting out of the studio and seeing things for ourselves.

One of my favourite small spaces we’ve designed.

This little sauna + cold plunge room at Ellerman House | Relais & Châteaux remains one of my favourite spaces to date.

There’s something about working within a small footprint that forces you to really think about every line, every material and every detail.

Here, the freeform timber screens and slatted surfaces soften the space, creating rhythm, movement and a quiet, almost poetic energy.

A small space — but one designed to make you slow down, breathe and stay a little longer.
