When I was young, my father told me that when I was born, I had a screwdriver in my left hand and a hammer in the right. At the age of 16, I started doing small odd jobs around families’ homes. From fitting ceiling fans to replacing outside lights. There was always a need for small jobs as my uncles were to busy with other things to help their wives. From family, to friends, to friends of family,
I went along my merry way, fixing this and fixing that. Things got so out of hand that my weekends were fully booked up. I always enjoyed the look on the ladies faces when they said “my husband could never have fixed that”. My dream when I was young was to be my own boss. In 2002, my dream became a reality and RP Maintenance was established. I started off doing painting contracts and then moved over to building and plumbing. It took almost two years for things to take off and I feel that I have made a huge success of my business. I love what I do - it keeps me alive. I feel that a person is never to old to learn something new in life... and each and every day, I learn new things. I have a fantastic team who know what my expectations of them are and they are an asset to my business. We specialise in bathroom renovations, plumbing, painting and general alterations. Go and browse through the gallery to see some of the work that we have done. Throughout the years, I have always been very house proud and whether it is my home or a client’s home, I am always looking at new ways of improvement. There are many new ideas and new ways of modernising one's home with a cost-effective budget. I always give my best to all clients - there is no greater satisfaction than your client looking at the end product and saying “it's fantastic” or “excellent job”. That is all I really need at the end of each contract, to know that I have made a difference. A home is what I will make of it.
