African Proverb: A hot tempered person destroys in one day, all his twenty years achieved
Meaning: The most destructive weapon in this world is not the atomic bomb but an angry heart. Anger has destroyed more things in history than any physical weapon and perhaps all the weapons combined. It has destroyed marriages, businesses, wealth, countries, visions, campaigns, kingdoms, people, and many more. And the sad part of it is that some of these things it has destroyed have taken years of hard work and sacrifice to build. And not only that, it continues to destroy many things today. By the way, a hot temper is not only temper that is expressed outwardly in outburst. Some people cave in or become quiet in their anger, which is even more dangerous. Hot temper simply means easily angry. So how does one manage or overcome hot temper? First of all, you must admit you have it and call it by its ugly name "hot temper". Secondly, nip it in the bud. At the root of all hot temper is self-centeredness. People who are hot tempered are always thinking about themselves more than they ought to. That's why they are quick to put the blame on others or to see others as the problem. So deal with the root and you won't have to bother about the fruit. Be temperate! !
