We're officially underway. Brunch into Building is happening now...

We kicked things off with a little dream planning and vision boarding, giving everyone a chance to put their ideas for their future homes into something they can see and build towards.

Now, we're heading into brunch, with plenty more to unpack, discuss and learn as we explore what it really takes to move from drawings to building.

THE BOREHOLE COLLAPSED FIVE TIMES

Our client had a clear vision for her home in the Katoba Hills: tall ceilings, large windows and a design that made the most of the landscape around it.

The site had other ideas.

During borehole drilling, the ground collapsed five times. It took a new drilling company and a different technique to finally get it right on the sixth attempt.

This is the part of building you don't see in the finished photographs.

Plans meet real ground conditions. Problems need new solutions. Decisions have to be made. And somehow, the project still needs to move forward without losing sight of the home the client imagined in the first place.

Today, the house is finished. Our client has moved in. And she loves it.

It's also the kind of real-world experience we're bringing to Brunch into Building.

The Makeni Heights project has been roofed. Phase one electrical and plumbing work is complete. The windows have been fabricated, and the project is now moving into window installation and plastering.

These milestones are exciting to see, but they don't happen by themselves.
