*REFLECTIONS on SOBRIETY and CORPORATE INFLUENCE*
Today marks another day of sobriety, a victory over the clutches of addiction that once ensnared me. I find solace in knowing that I am safe from the grip of others' addictions, but I can't ignore the irony that I now possess billions beyond my needs, while many struggle just to get by.
In this world, it seems that all fighters eventually lose, while corporations emerge victorious, their relentless pursuit of profit often overshadowing ethics and humanity. It's as if corporations themselves represent the devil, tempting us with material wealth while exploiting our vulnerabilities.
Yet, amidst this reality, I've come to recognize the importance of rehab rules, those guidelines that help break patterns and rituals that pave the way for relapse. Defiant behavior, I've learned, is often a precursor to slipping back into old habits.
Reflecting on society's vices, I think of ma*****na, once demonized but now a symbol of profit in the corporate world. It's a stark example of how capitalism can distort values and priorities, prioritizing financial gain over the well-being of individuals and communities.
Similarly, our obsession with refined foods and technological advancements pushes us further away from nature, from the very essence of what sustains us. It's a reminder to respect the food we consume and the people who cultivate it, acknowledging their labor and the interconnectedness of all life.
As I jot down these thoughts, I am reminded of the delicate balance between progress and preservation, between personal freedom and corporate influence. Each day is a journey, a struggle against the forces that seek to ensnare us, but also a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
Today, amidst the chaos of the world and the struggle against addiction, I discovered a newfound source of serenity in a Buddhist chant. As the sun rose this morning, I embraced this ancient practice, its rhythmic cadence soothing my restless soul.
