Requirements for House Plans (Development Plans)
So here are the requirements that need to be met before your local authority/council can approve your application for development/ development permit. Further more there are stsndards to follow when planning the space of the plot, distance to be observed from the property line to the proposed building including location of boreholes and sewer system in use. Here are the non-negotiable components of a Standard House Plan that will get no objection from your local authority and will give ample guidance to your contractor/ bricklayer.
1. Floor plan (clearly labelled and dimmensioned)
2. Elevations or Views (e.g east, west, left, right, etc)
3. Section(s)
4. Foundation plan
5. Roof plan
6. Site plan/ layout plan
7. Block plan/ location plan
8. Door schedule
9. Window schedule
10. Specifications for various components
11. Sewage system
12. Existing building plan for extensions, new construction on already developed plot.
13. Detailed explosion of some components
14. Finishing schedule
