🔧 Borehole repair: Poly pipe flushing

Borehole repairs can become costly when problems are left unattended or when unsuitable materials are used during construction.

Today, our team carried out poly pipe flushing and recovery works on an 80m borehole, successfully restoring the borehole after casing failure. We then recommended installing 110mm Class 16 casing pipes as a strong solution to the borehole.

Removing the failed casings was not a viable option because the surrounding formation could collapse and completely close the borehole.
Unfortunately, the Class 6 casings eventually failed after we left the site, resulting in a total collapsing.

💧 BOREHOLE DEEPENING — CHITUNGWIZA, ZIKO

We had a successful borehole deepening project in Chitungwiza today. The client was unable to fill a 5000liter tank since they first sunk their borehole.

We did not just deepen. First we had to assess if deepening was necessary and to what depth we could deepen if permissable.

So our team deepened the borehole to access deeper water-bearing formations and improve the borehole's water recharge from the initial 70 meters to 120 meters. The project was a success.

As seen in the video below, reduced water levels in a borehole can result in low water pressure during pumping. When the water level drops significantly, the pump may struggle to draw enough water to maintain a consistent flow and pressure.

This can be caused by:
• Seasonal changes
• Prolonged dry periods
• Increased water demand
• Changes in the underground water supply

Where necessary, borehole deepening can be considered to access deeper water-bearing formations that may provide a more reliable and sustainable water supply.
