Von unserem Hauptquartier in der östlichen Obersteiermark aus treiben wir die Entwicklung des Schienengüterverkehrs voran – und das mitten in einer der bedeutendsten Wirtschaftsregionen Europas. Um den Stellenwert der Industrie noch mehr Menschen näherzubringen, fand am Freitag die statt. Quer durch die Steiermark nutzten mehr als 31.000 Besucher:innen die Gelegenheit zum Mitmachen, Staunen und Entdecken – und wir waren gemeinsam mit unserem Partner hautnah dabei.

Am Standort von Geminos im Kapfenberger High-Tech-Park, umgeben von zahlreichen Weltmarktführern, drehte sich alles um den Schienengüterverkehr der Zukunft, E-Mobilität im intermodalen Verkehr, die Rolle von Terminals sowie die Frage, wie Motoren und Sensoren funktionieren. Wir durften uns über hunderte interessierte Besucher:innen und ebenso viele spannende Begegnungen und Gespräche freuen, um sie mit unserer Mission vertraut zu machen – ganz im Sinne von !

From our headquarters in eastern Upper Styria, we are driving the development of rail freight transport—right in the heart of one of Europe’s most important economic regions. To help even more people understand the importance of the industry, the took place on Friday. Across Styria, more than 31,000 visitors took the opportunity to participate, marvel, and discover—and we were right there in the thick of it alongside our partner .

At the Geminos site in the Kapfenberg High-Tech Park, surrounded by numerous global market leaders, the focus was on the rail freight transport of the future, e-mobility in intermodal transport, the role of terminals, and how motors and sensors work. We were delighted to welcome hundreds of interested visitors and enjoy just as many exciting encounters and conversations, all to familiarize them with our mission—truly in the spirit of !

Der „Tag der Wirtschaft“ zählt zu den Höhepunkten im Schuljahr der HTL Kapfenberg, einer führenden Ausbildungsstätte für die steirische Industrie. Jährlich präsentieren zahlreiche namhafte Unternehmen ihr Portfolio und geben Einblicke in ihre Tätigkeitsfelder – bei der jüngsten Ausgabe waren auch wir von Innofreight gemeinsam mit unserem Partner Geminos vertreten.

Bereits 2023 übernahm Innofreight an dieser Schule eine Vorreiterrolle und wurde als erster Partner Klassenpate eines Mechatronik-Jahrgangs. Durch Praktika, gemeinsame Projekte wie die Stationäre Entladeanlage für unsere Modelleisenbahn InnoBahn sowie den direkten Austausch – etwa beim Besuch von innoduler im Herbst 2025 – wird praxisnahes Lernen gefördert und die Brücke zwischen Ausbildung und Beruf weiter gestärkt.

Gleichzeitig ermöglicht diese Kooperation die Anschaffung neuen Equipments, um im Zeitalter von Digitalisierung, Automatisierung, Robotik und KI stets am Puls der Zeit zu bleiben – ganz im Sinne unseres Leitspruchs:

“Business Day” is one of the highlights of the school year at HTL Kapfenberg, a leading training institution for Styrian industry. Every year, numerous well-known companies present their portfolios and offer insights into their fields of activity—at the most recent event, we at Innofreight were also represented alongside our partner Geminos.

As early as 2023, Innofreight took on a pioneering role at this school and became the first partner to sponsor a mechatronics class. Through internships, joint projects such as the stationary unloading machine for our InnoBahn model railway, and direct exchange—for example, during a visit to innoduler in the fall of 2025—hands-on learning is promoted and the bridge between education and the professional world is further strengthened.

At the same time, this partnership enables the acquisition of new equipment to stay at the cutting edge in the age of digitalization, automation, robotics, and AI—in keeping with our motto:

Ein Großteil unseres Arbeitsalltags spielt sich auf den Gleisen ab – umso wichtiger ist für uns eine intakte Infrastruktur. Mit dem 30 ft RockTainer INFRA ist das passende Equipment seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt zuverlässig auf Gleisbaustellen im Einsatz. Am vergangenen Wochenende war er rund um unser Headquarter in Bruck an der Mur für die Rail Cargo Group unterwegs – das mussten wir natürlich festhalten.

Mit einer Nutzlast von 136 Tonnen pro 2x40 ft InnoWaggon und einer optimierten Bedienung mittels Hydraulikanlage erleichtert der RockTainer INFRA die Arbeiten an der Gleisinfrastruktur deutlich. Dank dosierbarer Mitten- und Seitenentladung wird sowohl der innere als auch der äußere Gleisbereich präzise mit Gleisschotter versorgt.

Much of our daily work takes place on the tracks—which is why a well-maintained infrastructure is so important to us. The 30 ft RockTainer INFRA has been reliably serving as the ideal equipment on track construction sites for over a decade. Last weekend, it was in action around our headquarters in Bruck an der Mur for the Rail Cargo Group—and of course, we had to capture that moment.

With a payload of 136 tons per 2x40 ft InnoWaggon and optimized operation via a hydraulic system, the RockTainer INFRA significantly streamlines work on the track infrastructure. Thanks to adjustable center and side discharge, both the inner and outer track areas are precisely supplied with ballast.

Der CemTainer von Innofreight kommt ab sofort beim Bau des Brenner Basistunnels zum Einsatz, einem der bedeutendsten Infrastrukturprojekte Europas. Der intermodale Spezialcontainer ermöglicht in Kombination mit dem 2×45 ft InnoWaggon den Transport von Bindemittel und eignet sich perfekt für die herausfordernden geografischen Gegebenheiten.

Jede Erfolgsgeschichte hat ihren Anfang. Das 10-jährige Jubiläum von Innofreight Germany nehmen wir zum Anlass, CEO Mario Carl zum Gespräch zu bitten. Rund 1,8 Millionen Tonnen Eisenerz transportiert CargoServ jährlich vom steirischen Erzberg nach Linz. Ab sofort kommt auf der 130 Kilometer langen Strecke der RockTainer ORE aus dem Hause Innofreight zum Einsatz und leistet mit drei bis vier Rundläufen pro Tag einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Rohstoffversorgung der heimischen Stahlindustrie. Die erste Garnitur mit 15 Stück 2x30 ft InnoWaggons wurde Ende Jänner ausgeliefert, die zweite folgte Ende Februar.

From now on, the RockTainer ORE from Innofreight will be used on the 130-kilometer route, making an important contribution to the supply of raw materials to the domestic steel industry with three to four round trips per day. Europaweit vernetzt – unserer Heimatregion eng verbunden. Deshalb bauen wir die langjährige Partnerschaft mit den BT Füchse und dem Sportbündel weiter aus. Mit dem Handball-Erstligisten und dem auf Inklusion spezialisierten Sportverein setzen wir ein starkes Zeichen dafür, wie Wirtschaft, Profisport und soziales Engagement zusammenwirken können.

Was in unseren Projekten gelebte Praxis ist, gilt auch hier: Jeder Partner bringt seine Stärken ein – und alle profitieren davon. So stellen wir gemeinsam die Weichen für die Nationalen Sommerspiele von Special Olympics Österreich in Wien.

Von 25. bis 30. Juni treten 1.800 Sportler:innen in 19 Sportarten an und leben den Gedanken der Special Olympics: „Lass mich gewinnen. Aber wenn ich nicht gewinnen kann, dann lass es mich mutig versuchen.“

Connected across Europe – closely linked to our home region. That's why we are continuing to build on our long-standing partnership with the BT Füchse and Sportbündel. Together with the first division handball club and the sports club specializing in inclusion, we are sending a strong signal about how business, professional sports, and social engagement can work together.

What we practice in our projects also applies here: each partner contributes their strengths – and everyone benefits. Together, we are setting the course for the National Summer Games of Special Olympics Österreich in Vienna.

From June 25 to 30, 1,800 athletes will compete in 19 sports and live the Special Olympics motto: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
