On Sunday 8th February 2026, the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters officially launched the Trinity Valley Stage 4 project, with many local families enjoying a beautiful day in the sun at St Morris Reserve. While much of the critical stormwater infrastructure delivered as part of these works may not be visible to the community, it plays a vital role in protecting homes, supporting our economy, and enhancing the lifestyle we enjoy.

It was fantastic to see the playground and surrounding areas filled with families on the day — and to know that Bardavcol has also delivered the essential infrastructure helping to create a safer community across the Torrens Valley region.

Thank you to the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, ProcurePM Project Management, our dedicated team, and all our subcontractors and suppliers for bringing this important project to life.

Celebrating 50 Years in Business!

Any South Australian resident or visitor is likely to have experienced Bardavcol’s influence on our state. Whether driving to your destination, flying into or out of South Australia, utilising our most precious water resources, or crossing a bridge, chances are Bardavcol has played a part in your day.

Having done so since December 1975, Bardavcol recently celebrated a significant milestone—50 years in business.

What began as a small business subcontracting to builders has, over five decades, grown into a trusted organisation that has delivered some of South Australia’s most important infrastructure projects. Guided by integrity, reliability, agility and trust, we remain a proud, humble family business—honouring our legacy while looking ahead with excitement to the future.

We were delighted to celebrate this milestone alongside our valued clients, suppliers, contractors, friends, and most importantly, our people—past and present. We were also honoured to have the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Emily Bourke - Labor MLC, attend and speak about Bardavcol’s contribution to South Australia.

At Bardavcol, we thrive on constructing infrastructure to enhance the lives of our fellow South Australians.

On behalf of the South Australian Government, Bardavcol will join with Tonkin and their partner GHD in designing and constructing the Mount Barker Interchange Upgrade. Mount Barker is currently a major growth area in the Adelaide Hills, upgrading this interchange will improve capacity, traffic efficiency and commuter safety in the area.

The upgraded interchange will include:
· A new three lane bridge over the South Eastern Freeway for northbound traffic
· Conversion of the existing bridge to accommodate three lanes of southbound traffic
· A new signalised intersection at Adelaide Road and the freeway exit ramp from Murray Bridge
· Upgrades to the existing ramps to and from Adelaide to improve safety and capacity
· A new bus priority lane
· A new shared path
· A new northbound on road bike lane
· Improved accessibility and safety for Adelaide Road service road.

Design is currently underway, with construction planned to start at the end of this year. This coincides just as Bardavcol celebrates 50 years of operation, a milestone for our proudly South Australian company.

Light River Rail Bridge Replacement – Design & Construct Client: ARTC.

Located in Korunye between Adelaide and Crystal Brook, the Light River Rail Bridge — a 28m steel bridge constructed circa 1915 — had reached the end of its service life and required replacement.

Bardavcol, in partnership with Sterling Infrastructure, recently completed the design and construction of the new bridge for ARTC.

The works included removal 28m steel superstructure through-span bridge, supported by concrete piles and pile caps. The track is carried by ballast over precast concrete deck panels. The new bridge was designed to accommodate 300LA rail traffic load and provides a 100-year design life.

A major highlight of the project was the successful replacement of the bridge within a 60-hour rail shutdown window over the Easter weekend. The Bardavcol team worked tirelessly to remove the existing bridge and install the new structure, ensuring the track was re-opened on schedule.

The imagery showcases both the intensity of the shutdown works and the quality of the completed bridge. This project was a true team effort — with Bardavcol’s delivery team, our design partners at Sterling, our contractors, and the strong collaboration of our client, ARTC.

Once again, we proudly participated in the MATES in Construction – Fly the Flag program. This year, we nominated our Marion / Sir Donald Bradman Drive site, where we welcomed around 50 attendees, including our client, Bardavcol team members, and a range of subcontractors. A big thank you to RAM Equipment, who generously supported the event by donating the trailer BBQ and esky, which worked brilliantly on the day!

Bardavcol is pleased to confirm our ongoing commitment as a Bronze Member Sponsor for another two years. Alongside this, we continue to roll out Connector and Asist training across our workforce to further strengthen support on site.

This year we have also:
🔹 Attended the annual corporate fundraiser, which was once again an outstanding event.
🔹 Begun installing MIC-sponsored vending machines at our sites.
🔹 Introduced recycled can collection points (from August) to raise additional funds.

Most importantly, through our involvement, Bardavcol has helped over 30 individuals and their families access the assistance they needed this year alone.

At Bardavcol, we deliver a wide range of civil construction services, and our earthworks team is currently achieving excellent results for our client, Potentia, at the Novo West Lakes development. This project will see around 500 new homes built in Adelaide’s western suburbs, with Bardavcol completing the earthworks for Stages 1, 2, and 3.

Our scope of works has included site clearing, preloading, and remove-and-replace operations to engineer the ground conditions in preparation for this future community. The collaboration and trust shown by the Potentia team have been invaluable, and the results speak for themselves. Completion is only a few weeks away. hastag
