Magistrate Hartigan began her legal career at the Bar before being appointed to the Magistrates Court of Queensland in 2019. Bringing experience from both sides of the Bench, she offers a unique perspective on the legal profession, career progression, and leadership within the justice system.

Rob Miller | Managing Director / CEO, Pentacon Civil Construction 🦺
A civil engineer by profession, Rob joined Pentacon in 2017 as a Project Manager, progressing to Operations Manager before becoming owner and Managing Director in 2021. Since then, he has led significant growth and regional expansion across Queensland and will share lessons learned in leadership, team building, and business growth.

Mark Daniel | Director / Principal, McGrath Estate Agents 🏡
A well-known leader in Mackay’s real estate industry, Mark brings years of experience in property, business, and building strong professional relationships. His career offers plenty of lessons on leadership, reputation, and succeeding in a people-focused industry.

You’ll be working across a range of civil works including bulk earthworks, drainage, pavements and site rehabilitation, operating plant such as rollers, skid steers, tandem tippers and more.

The right operators for this role know their way around civil plant, take pride in doing the job properly and bring a strong safety mindset to site.

What you’ll need:
• Civil construction plant experience
• HR Driver’s Licence
• Relevant RII tickets
• White Card
• Detailed excavation experience will be highly regarded
• Local to the Mackay Region

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. 🌱

At Mount Garnet, our team is undertaking rehabilitation works on a major tailings dam. The process involves progressively covering the tailings, installing a liner, and constructing a series of engineered soil layers before the finished surface is seeded and revegetated.

Each layer plays a part in the long-term performance of the rehabilitated area - helping manage water infiltration and runoff, control erosion and create a stable landform capable of supporting vegetation well into the future.

It’s detailed work, delivered on a pretty spectacular canvas.

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁.

Earlier this week, our Project Engineer, Shamal Gomes, presented to Engineers Australia on the construction of Landfill Cell 4 at Hogan’s Pocket, hosted at the Resources Centre of Excellence.

The session generated some great discussion, with attendees commenting on how informative they found the presentation. We’re incredibly proud of the effort Shamal put into preparing and delivering it.

Well done, Shamal - a great opportunity to share knowledge, contribute to the industry and keep developing as an engineer. Proud to have you representing Pentacon.

Due to our continued growth across Queensland, we are excited to announce the opening of another Pentacon office in Cannonvale, Whitsundays.

This new location strengthens our presence across North and Central Queensland and positions our team to better support clients and projects throughout the Whitsunday Region and surrounding areas.

Today, our site teams and offices took a time out for R U OK? Day.

There were cupcakes, Kit Kats, a few laughs and plenty of conversation, but the point wasn’t really the morning tea.

It was the reminder to check in properly. To notice when someone seems a bit off. To ask the question and actually make space for the answer.

Because “R U OK?” only means something if you mean it when you ask.

They spend the week solving problems, keeping projects moving and getting the job done. Then they head home and start the second shift. Coach. Taxi driver. BBQ operator. Fixer of things. Finder of lost things.
