β οΈ Before you let any locksmith start work on your property β check these five things first.
In a stressful lockout situation it's easy to just let whoever turns up get on with the job. But taking 60 seconds to verify your locksmith could save you from a very expensive and potentially dangerous mistake.
Check these five things before any work begins:
π 1. Do they arrive in a branded vehicle?
Legitimate locksmiths operate from clearly marked, professional vehicles. An unmarked car or van is an immediate red flag.
πͺͺ 2. Do they carry proper identification?
Ask to see their ID and security licence before they touch anything. A legitimate locksmith will have no problem showing you.
π 3. Can they provide an upfront quote?
Get the price confirmed before any work starts. If they refuse or are vague about costs β walk away.
π’ 4. Do they have a real, verifiable business address?
Search them online. Do they have a real shopfront, reviews and a consistent business history? Or just a website and a phone number?
β
5. Are they MLAA verified?
Check the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia member directory to confirm they are a legitimate, accredited operator.
Morayfield Locksmiths ticks every single one of these boxes β every time, without exception.
