Here's a tip from your local plumber 🔧

In our world, silicone is also known as "God in a tube" 🙌 It will stick to just about ANYTHING…
…as long as the surface is dry and dust-free!

Surface prep is the part many DIY jobs miss. Silicone over old residue, dust, soap scum or a damp surface won't bond properly, which is why it peels away, lets water in, and goes mouldy. Scrape off the old stuff, clean it, let it dry completely, then apply✅

If your drains keep blocking up… it might not be what you've flushed. 🌳

Tree roots are one of the biggest causes of repeat blockages in Sydney. They grow straight into your sewer pipes looking for water, and all the nutrients that go with it. You can clear them out, but they come back.

That's where Vaporooter comes in. It stops tree roots in your drains, and it works. ✅
It's backed by our guarantee.

Buying a house? Congratulations! 🏡 That's a big purchase.

Before you sign, consider a health check of the plumbing. We call it the Pre-Purchase Plumbing Perusal. 🔍

Building inspections don't always look closely at what's under the ground or behind the walls. Old earthenware sewer pipes, tree roots, leaks and dodgy repairs can all be expensive surprises once the keys are yours. A plumbing check before you buy means you know what you're getting into and can factor it into your offer.

📋 Want to know what to look for at your next open home? Comment "CHECKLIST" below and we'll send you our free pre-purchase plumbing checklist.

Here's a summer tip from your local plumber ☀️

Summer brings all types of fun… and in my case, that's swimming in the ocean. 🌊 If you're not sure about the conditions at the beach, ask a local lifeguard or local lifesaver. The safest place to swim in Sydney is between the flags!

But there are dangerous conditions everywhere we go. As we head into summer, it's gas barbecue season 🔥 and if your gas barbie is leaking (or you think it might be), those are DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. ⚠️

If you smell gas:
🔴 Turn the gas off at the bottle
🔴 Don't light it or use it
🔴 Keep flames and sparks well away

A quick check before the first cook-up of the season: brush soapy water over the hose and connections with the gas on and the barbie off. Bubbles = a leak.

If you're not sure, ask your local plumber. And in the meantime, let's go swimming! 🏊‍♂️

What's that spell? VAPOROOTER! 🎉

If tree roots keep coming back in your sewer, cutting them out is only half the job. Vaporooter is a sewer root control foam that fills the pipe to kill roots on contact and inhibit future root growth. And here's the best bit: only roots within the pipe and a very short distance outside it are affected, so your trees and shrubs are not harmed (just their creeping roots are evicted from the sewer pipes). 🌳

So whether the roots are coming from your trees or the neighbour's fig tree, we can deal with them without losing the garden.

Here's a tip from your local plumber 🔧

We're in Bondi, at a 100-year-old house with tree roots in the sewer. The pipes are a mix of old earthenware and some PVC… but here's the twist.

The roots aren't coming from any trees on this property. 🌳 There are a couple of big fig trees next door, and their roots are growing under the wall and straight into this home's pipes.

So just because the trees aren't on your property, it doesn't mean you won't have tree roots in your sewer.

Older earthenware pipes are especially vulnerable, since roots find their way into the joints and cracks, then keep growing.

POV: You're a slow-draining sink and The Lone Drainer and Pronto just rode into town 🤠

That gurgling, half-full basin isn't going to fix itself. Hair, soap scum, and gunk build up in the pipe until the water barely moves… and then the masked plumber and his trusty sidekick show up. 🪠🐎

Hi ho, Plunger… away with that blockage!

When did Noah build the ark, Gladys? 🌧️ Before the rain. 🎬
Robert Redford fans will know this line, and it's good advice for your stormwater too.

Blocked gutters, broken outlets, and drains full of roots and leaves all look harmless on a sunny day. But when the next big storm hits, that water has nowhere to go except back toward your house.

So check your stormwater before the rain:
🍂 Gutters clear of leaves
🌧️ Downpipes flowing freely
🕳️ Kerb outlets and grates not broken or blocked

Here's a tip from your local plumber 🔧

Has your water bill suddenly jumped? 💧

It could mean there's a leak somewhere in your house. It might be something as simple as:

🚽 A toilet that's quietly running into the bowl
🚰 A dripping tap
🌿 A garden tap somewhere spilling water you don't know about

It may be obvious, but it may not. Small leaks can run for months unnoticed, and you pay for every drop.

📩 Not sure where it's coming from? Contact us and we'll help you track it down! (02) 9664 4990
