Car versus plasterboard wall.

A past customer contacted me a couple of weeks ago, she was very distressed, her husband had a medical episode and crashed their 4WD into the garage wall and also damaged the bedroom wall behind it.

So I said to her “don’t stress, I’ll pop out tomorrow and take a look” which I did, I assessed the damage gave her a reasonable quote, which she agreed to, and I told her I’ll fix it as soon as I get a chance.

And today I did the job after stopping off at Bunnings to pick up the materials, one of the timber studs was damaged, which I suspected might have happened, and had picked up some timber studs with the plasterboard and reinforced the damaged stud.

She was more than happy with the result and couldn’t thank me enough, she’s going through a tough time at the moment due to her husband’s declining health, but now she has one less worry.

These are some photos of a white ant repair job I did recently, even though it’s a steel frame, someone had put a timber back block in behind the plasterboard, for a butt join, so they removed part of the plasterboard wall so the could eradicate the pests.
Fortunately they hadn’t touched the timber architraves, skirting or window jambs.
