The use of concrete

spraying (also known as shotcrete) in the construction process has many applications. Major contractors, project managers, builders both large and small have all relied on Mitchcon's expertise and advice with the design, operational planning and placement of shotcrete
Our Mitchcon Civil arm has the resources to run your complete shotcrete project

HIGHRISE
Mitchcon offers two 35 metre Highrise Placing Booms that have the longest reach in Melbourne. To compliment these we have both mobile and static pumps which can be bolted down within the site boundaries, or come and go on a daily basis. This allows us to accommodate the tightest of sites in Melbourne. We also supply the newest technology in cleaning of our lines with the use of water. This takes not only the industries safety to the next level but also gives us the ability to save huge amounts of concrete, by putting what is normally thrown away back into the job. We not only offer the plant and equipment but also our pumping and building experience throughout the process of setting up this crucial part of the build.

Doesn't matter if it's the coldest morning of the year or the kind of heat that makes the ute seats unbearable - if we said we'd be there, we're there.

What's the worst weather you've worked through on site?

Where do you spend most of yours?

End of a long shift, and this is the bit that keeps everyone sane.

Doesn't matter how tough the day's been - access dramas, weather, a pump that needed babying - the blokes always find something to have a laugh about once the gear's packed up. That's the stuff that doesn't make it into any capability statement, but it's honestly half of why people stick around this crew for so many years. Hoo roo.

Who's the operator on your crew that makes the impossible setups look easy?

Shotcrete or a manual pour - it's not about which one's better, it's about which one actually suits your site.

Open access and a standard slab? A traditional pour will get it done without any fuss. But tight access, curved surfaces, or a job where formwork just isn't practical - basements, retaining walls, anything underground - and shotcrete's the one that'll save you time and headaches.

Swipe through for how we'd call it on your job.

The Wetkret 3 loaded up and ready to go - about to put some grey through her.

This rig's one we lean on when the job calls for controlled, consistent shotcrete application, and it's a fair chunk of why we can say yes to the trickier spray jobs other crews steer clear of.

Good gear, well maintained, ready when the crew is. Big thanks to Putzmeister Oceania for keeping this one performing the way it should.

We're growing again, and I'm on the hunt for the right people to come along with us.

I've been doing this a long time now, and the one thing I've learned is gear and contracts don't make a crew - people do. So if you're a shotcreter, hoseman or pump operator who actually takes pride in the finish and backs the blokes next to you, I want to hear from you.

What you get from us - competitive rates, a modern fleet you're not fighting against every day, work across some of Victoria's biggest infrastructure and civil jobs, and a business that's still family-run, so you're a name, not a number.

I'm not after passengers. I'm after good people who want a long-term career doing proper work.

Know someone who'd fit this crew? Tag them, or send a resume to [email protected].

Found this the other day and had a bit of reminiscing...

Dad got into concrete pumping back in '87 - long before there was ever a "Mitchcon" on anything. It wasn't until '95 that he actually put the business together properly and called it Mitchcon Pty Ltd, but those eight years before that were him learning the trade the hard way, one job at a time.

I grew up hearing about those early years - long days, older gear, figuring it out as he went. Funny thing is, thirty-odd years on the fleet's changed completely but the way we go about the job hasn't - show up, do it properly, look after the people you're working with.

Thought this one was worth sharing.

If your old man (or you) started out in this trade back in the '80s or '90s, drop the year below - keen to see how far back some of us go.

On site in Cheltenham working with Shenfield Property Constructions on Charman Rd.

Good crew, good client, another one ticked off.
