J&H is a locally owned company, based in Rutherford with customers throughout the Hunter Valley, Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Regions. Therefore we are close at hand both for your maintenance jobs and emergency breakdown situations. J&H was established in 2005 and in that time has grown significantly. We have some of the best technicians in the area working with us to provide the best service we can for our customers.

As part of Guest Chef Series No. 3, we’re opening up the conversation at EXP. for an afternoon with Aaron Ward of Bathers’ Pavilion Restaurant , our own Frank Fawkner , and Dylan Abdoo Dylan Abdoo of Newcastle Greens

Join us on Monday 9 November for a FREE Q&A exploring the people, ideas and philosophies behind the food we cook and grow. From the paths that brought each of them here to their approach to seasonality and produce, it’s a chance to hear directly from three people who care deeply about what ends up on the plate. Dylan will also bring along a produce table, sharing what’s in season right now and what makes it special from a grower’s perspective.

🦸‍♂️ SUNDAY CALLOUT… J&H TO THE RESCUE! ❄️

When the coolroom temperature started climbing at The Pickled Pig on Sunday , the J&H Commercial team answered the emergency call.

From diagnosis to back up and running, we had the compressor replaced within FIVE HOURS. 🔧

We know a refrigeration breakdown puts real pressure on a business. That’s why we’re available 24/7—because problems don’t wait for Monday morning.

A big thank you to our team for stepping up, and to The Pickled Pig for trusting us to help.

Turns out Jason does leave the office! 🏎️🏁

Our Directors, Jason & Heather have swapped the office for the fast lane, heading to Singapore with his family to experience the excitement of the F1!

A well-deserved break, some family time and plenty of horsepower. We’re only slightly jealous! 😂

Two nights only Sunday 8 November Monday 9 November

We’re continuing our Guest Chef Series with a collaboration that brings together two kitchens, two regions and a shared approach to produce — welcoming Aaron Ward, Executive Chef of Bathers’ Pavilion Restaurant at Balmoral Beach, for a two-night collaborative degustation here EXP. restaurant

Chef Aaron & Chef Frank are working alongside Dylan Abdoo Dylan Abdoo of Newcastle Greens to curate a menu built around seasonal locally grown produce.

Aaron’s cooking is shaped by some of Australia’s most respected kitchens, including Sixpenny and Shell House, and his approach is grounded in a close relationship with the farmers and producers behind each plate.

Frank’s cooking is rooted in the Hunter Valley: fermentation, native ingredients and the landscape of the region. Aaron brings a perspective shaped by the harbour city and the ocean beyond it. Together, one collaborative degustation in the EXP. Dining Room.

These evenings are intimate by design, with limited seats available.
