🔥 A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS… 🔥

You may have noticed a few changes around here lately.

South Coast Motorcycle Customs has officially become EAST COAST AUTOMOTIVE DETAILING.

Cars and motorcycles have always been a huge passion of mine. After more than 25 years in business, together with my background as a trade-qualified painter and decorator and years spent building, painting and working with custom motorcycles, I’ve decided it’s time to bring that experience and passion together in a new direction.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working behind the scenes getting East Coast Automotive Detailing ready, and this Tuesday I’ll complete further professional detailing training before we begin the next stage.

Based on the Gold Coast, East Coast will specialise in premium detailing for cars and motorcycles, including:

✨ Paint correction
✨ Ceramic coatings
✨ Interior & leather detailing
✨ Wheels & engine bays
✨ Mobile & workshop services

For me, this isn’t about rushing vehicles through or competing to be the cheapest.

It’s about quality workmanship, proper preparation, attention to detail and treating someone’s pride and joy with the same respect I’d expect for my own.

Whether it’s a daily driver, weekend toy, custom motorcycle, prestige car or collector vehicle — the goal will always be the same: deliver a finish I’m proud to put my name to.

To everyone who has followed and supported the old South Coast page over the years — thank you. I hope you’ll stick around and follow this next chapter with me.

This beautiful home down in Kingscliff, Northern NSW, is coming up an absolute treat. 👌🏼

At only five years old, it was already badly in need of a repaint — which just goes to show how quickly homes in coastal environments can start to deteriorate when the correct coating system hasn’t been used from day one.

Rest assured, the team at DNM Painting & Decorating is bringing this one back to its former glory. 💪🏼

We’re using Dulux Acratex AcraShield — a high-quality membrane coating system designed for rendered and acrylic-rendered exterior surfaces, giving this home the protection it needs against the harsh coastal conditions.

Another unit makeover underway! 🎨

I absolutely love doing these repaints because the transformation from before to after is always incredible. It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do to completely change the look and feel of a home.

Not bad effort for the Top 10 in 2025. First year back in Oz after being away for 10 years. It’s definitely a trade where seeing the finished product is rewarding and motivating.

Well, here’s one that has just been completed and it’s come up an absolute treat.

We had plenty of repair work ahead of us, with cracked gyprock joins throughout and some precision plastering required to get everything paint-ready. As always, the preparation is what makes the difference in achieving a flawless finish.

The team at DNM Painting & Decorating really worked well on this one, putting in the time and effort to ensure every repair and detail was completed to the highest standard before a brush even touched the walls.

We used a matt finish on the walls as this home receives an abundance of natural light from every angle, helping to minimise imperfections while giving a clean, modern look.

Colours used were Pure White on the ceilings and ¼ Lexicon on the walls with an extra drop of black to create a fresh, crisp finish.

The transformation speaks for itself, and Brian and his wife were fantastic clients to work for from start to finish. A big thank you to them for trusting us with their home.

Another day and another $$ 💰

Here we had some hairline cracks appear in ceilings that are around 7 years old. All plastering is done in-house, using Base Coat 45 and Fibre Fuse, followed by two top coats of topping compound to achieve a seamless finish.

A lot of people ask why we go out so wide with our repairs. Simple — it’s the only way to achieve a flawless finish with no visible humps or ridges. Some repairs can leave more humps than a humpback whale! 😁

Well this one has come up pretty decent with a lot of work gone into it. Plenty of repair work along the way too — the blue board had cracking throughout, so we repaired it all using Dulux acrylic render to get everything matching and looking seamless again. Definitely one of those jobs where the prep work makes all the difference. Great customer who’s been very appreciative along the way .
