Alcom Tint + Security

North Lakes and Mango Hill, can we be straight with you for a minute?

Police figures for the Mango Hill–North Lakes division show 802 break-ins, vehicle thefts and property damage offences in the 12 months to July 2026.

Plenty of homes up your way have standard flyscreens on the doors and windows. They’re great for keeping the bugs out, but they won’t stop anyone who really wants to get in.

We’re a family-owned business and we’ve been doing this since 1993. We make our Crimsafe screens ourselves at our Yatala factory, so every one is built to fit your home, not pulled off a shelf. We’re also Platinum accredited with 3M Security Film for your glass and an Authorised Crimsafe Licensee since 1996.

Whether you’re building, renovating, or just want the back door sorted so you can leave it open on a nice night, we’re happy to help.

Book your consultation and we’ll walk around with you, point out where you’re most exposed, and give you an honest recommendation. If you don’t need much, we’ll tell you.

A standard "security" keeps insects out - but would you be happy if you someone could kick your door in with one kick? No?

A Crimsafe security screen is engineered to stop a forced entry attempt. Built with Screw-Clamp® technology and Tensile Tuff® mesh — 0.9mm stainless steel held under constant tension — it’s independently tested against knife attack, impact, jemmy, and pull-out forces. That tension is what makes it so hard to defeat.

We’ve been manufacturing and fitting Crimsafe here in Queensland for over 32 years. If you’re not sure what’s actually on your windows right now, we’re happy to take a look.

Are you enjoying the brief moment of sun before the rains come again?

With Queensland weather being so unpredictable, it’s worth thinking about how you can better protect your home before the next storm rolls in.

At Alcom, we offer two options that can work together to provide added protection:
Crimsafe security screens provide a strong physical barrier across your doors and windows.
3M Storm Film helps hold shattered glass together if your window breaks on impact.

Every home is different, so it’s worth having a chat about what might work best for yours. At Alcom, we are a local family owned business, we service from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Logan, Gold Coast, Ipswich and out to Toowoomba, Warwick and Dalby.

We love hearing feedback like this from our local Canungra customers and their families! 💙

As a family-owned Queensland business, we’re proud to look after homes with Crimsafe and 3M tint and families across South East Queensland, from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Every review means a lot to our team. We believe in doing the job properly, looking after our customers and being there if they need us.

Thank you for choosing local and trusting Alcom with your parents home and their Crimsafe doors and windows - and if I remember correctly their beautiful cats and dogs!

Locally owned. Proudly Queensland. Here when you need us.

“I’m on the 14th floor. Nobody’s getting in here.” 🏙

Think again.

After watching this interview on Sunrise yesterday, one thing is clear: height doesn’t equal safety.

Balconies can be reached from the floors above and below, from neighbouring balconies and from shared areas of the building. And an open sliding door doesn’t need to be forced. It just needs to be tried.

The scary part? It often happens while people are home and asleep. 😴

The good news is you don’t have to choose between fresh air and feeling safe. A quality security screen lets you open those balcony doors, enjoy the breeze and actually switch off at night. 🌬️🔒

Living in an apartment? Check your body corporate requirements first, then message us and we’ll talk you through what’s possible for your building.

Open doors shouldn’t mean open invitations. ✨

Crimsafe is only as good as the installation behind it.

When it comes to security doors, it’s not simply about putting a Crimsafe screen in the opening and calling it done.

Every home is different. Some doorways are straightforward. Others have uneven openings, unusual angles, old frames, tight spaces or challenges that require a bit more thought and experience.

That’s where installation matters.

At Alcom, we’ve been trusted for more than 33 years to take on the jobs that aren’t always straightforward — the ones where others have said “it can’t be done” or “we don’t do that.”

We look at the opening, the way the door needs to work, the existing structure and what is required to achieve a secure, practical result.

Because a quality security product deserves a quality installation.

Crimsafe made in Queensland. Installed by people who know what they’re doing.

When quality and security matter, trust the team that has been doing it since 1993.

Summer is on its way...

If your windows cop the afternoon sun, you’ll know how quickly the heat and glare can build up inside.

3M window film is a simple way to make things a little more comfortable. It can help reduce heat and glare, while also providing UV protection — which is especially handy here in Queensland.

You can still enjoy the natural light and your view, without quite so much of the summer sun coming through.

Just another way we help make Queensland homes a little more comfortable. ☀
