A grand hotel of São Paulo’s historic center, reimagined.

Until the 1960s, República was where the city came to be seen: theaters, cafés, bookshops and galleries, all within a few steps of each other. We are bringing one of its landmarks back to life, keeping its soul (the plaster ceilings, the wood, the tall windows) and adding the comfort of today.

Old soul, new light.

New Chapel | Ribeirão Preto

Chapel — an ellipse of perforated brick, a suspended roof and a ring of water. Light comes in through the lattice and crosses the nave until it reaches the altar, framed only by the hills.

Inspired by the geometry of butterfly wings, the project unfolds into two distinct wings: one dedicated to intimacy, the other to leisure.
