One of the standout structural features of this build is this massive engineered glulam beam now installed at the heart of the roof system.

This oversized glue-laminated timber isn’t just an architectural statement — it’s a critical structural component designed to carry substantial roof loads across large open spans while maintaining the clean, vaulted interior design vision.

The installation process takes extensive coordination between structural engineers, timber framers, crane operators, and the truss team. Before this beam ever reaches site, every load calculation, connection point, bearing location, and roof intersection is engineered down to the inch.

Once the supporting timber posts are set and braced, the beam is carefully craned into position and secured with engineered steel connection hardware. From there, the roof trusses tie into the beam, creating the structural backbone for the entire central roof system.

Projects like this showcase the incredible blend of engineering and craftsmanship required in modern timber construction. The final result will create an impressive open-concept space with exposed timber features throughout.
