Our beautiful journey with Pete

In the last 24 hours, we were reminded that nothing is guaranteed. Yesterday morning I shared a funny video of Pete who had turned on the robot vacuum and then proceeded to try to get in a fight with it. A few hours later, Pete had a massive seizure that she did not recover from today we did the humane thing this morning and let Pete go across rainbow bridge.

Throughout the years, I’ve shared almost all our Foster cats on this page and Pete came to us as a foster kitten on April 29, 2026 and we decided to adopt her shortly thereafter. Pete literally stole our hearts with how affectionate she was. In August, Pete started having seizures, and after investigations, it was very probable that she had a liver shunt. A liver shunt is a difficult condition to treat, and we made the decision to keep her comfortable and happy.

At first we thought Pete was male and we thought the name Pete suited her and when we discovered she was female, we kept the name. Pete wanted to be a full fledged JPPA employee. One time she used my laptop and printed some documents for us. Another time I came back to my computer and the display was totally upside down. Pete had worked her magic.

I miss having her in our house already. Even though it was a short six months she taught us a lot about soaking up moments of joy and just being your crazy self. She was always on for a good snuggle. Even if we knew the journey would be the short in the beginning I’m certain we would’ve made the same decision to adopt her because she was a beautiful little soul inside and out.

A huge thank you to Avon Animal Hospital in Windsor getting us in this morning and their compassionate care. They made a super hard day a little easier.

Between taking online courses and having some type of awful cold, I’ve been staying home most of the last week. Today while I was working at our dining room table, I heard the vacuum start up by Pete and then this happened. 😂

I take a course every Tuesday and Wednesday morning and my co-workers at home know it and really slack off while I’m on zoom. 😂

The Receptionist/Administration staff is responsible for providing a high level of customer service in an efficient and timely manner while running the day-to-day operations of the audiology clinic. Duties include, but are not limited to, general office administration, scheduling & calendar management, sales and billing. This position is much more than just answering phones and booking appointments.​

Happy weekend everyone! Thought we would post some JPPA updates.

We are always open for new Plumbing clients. Currently booking into November. We are not an emergency plumbing service but one that works on booked appointments - ie a dishwasher install, new home or renovations, replacing your hot water heater etc. We serve mostly West Hants but we will travel to HRM and the Valley with a travel fee. We will show up when you book in.

We are currently closed to any new Landscape or Construction Clients until further notice. Anyone currently booked for an Estimate visit we will be there. 💚

If you are a JPPA Plumbing Client feel free to reach out with any Landscape or Construction project you have in mind for next year. Booking for August 2027 currently.

Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours! What a beautiful weekend it has been. On Saturday we attended a lifelong friends wedding, Sunday was a family gathering in Digby where Jeremy won the washer toss tournament and today we gather with our family.

As always we are thankful for your support year to year as our company grows and evolves. 💚💛🧡

A few before and afters for a recent project we did for August16Development Ltd. This house was taken down to the bare bones and rebuilt over 4 months. Our own crews can do the carpentry, plumbing, landscape, gutters and we use our amazing sub trade partners for anything we can’t do.

It’s amazing watching something that many thought would have to be knocked down turned into a beautiful 4 bedroom 2 full bathroom home for a family to live in.

We are full up for October 1 Estimate bookings but if you are looking for an interior renovation this winter call, text or message us on Facebook because we have opened up an additional Estimate Day for Saturday Dec 5.

We are highlighting our past bathroom renovations. These are not stock photos but our actual work. We are also familiar with NS Housing grants for accessible tubs and showers. We have a Red Seal Plumber on staff, skilled Carpenters, and an amazing Painter that has extreme attention to detail. No waiting around for sub-trades we can do it all for you start to finish!
