This was one of the most ridiculous videos I've ever made.
Anyways here's what to do if you need to get a pumpkin to ripen.
First of all, understand that it won't get sweeter, and the only way it's going to turn orange is if there is already some orange on it and the skin is reasonably hard.
Second, make sure you cut a good bit of stem, and never carry him by it.
Third, put him in a nice sunny window, or by a wood stove, he likes it warm, make sure he's always above 10 degrees. In a couple weeks you should have a fairly orange pumpkin to carve up.

Want amazing compost? It starts with how you build your composter.
1. Put it in the sun on well draining ground
2. Build it with slats for air flow
3. Keep it close enough to your kitchen that you want to walk out there in all weather!
4. Make 3 bays if you have room, one to fill, one to cure, and one to use.

One lady, 11 chickens, 1134 photos and a minuscule amount of dancing.
Fall is for building the things you'll be glad of in the spring. This one will turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into soil for the garden. Slowly, because it's a compost pile and it doesn't rush.

1. Pick a shorter season variety, like Early Sweet for carving or Sugar Baby for pies.
2. Start your seeds three weeks before or plant outside.
3. Cover your soil with black plastic, then plant into a hole cut out for the transplant. It'll warm up your soil and block the weeds.
