YOUR THERMOSTAT DOESN’T HAVE A “HURRY UP” BUTTON!

It’s chilly. You want 22°C. So you crank your heat pump to 28°C to “get things moving.”

Sound familiar?

FRIDAY FACT: Turning it way up isn’t a reliable shortcut to comfort, and on some systems, that big jump can trigger backup heat and increase energy use.

Heat pumps generally work best maintaining a steady, comfortable temperature. Large setbacks and frequent temperature changes can make your system work harder to catch up, rather than keeping your comfort consistent.

* Set the temperature you actually want.
* Give your system time to reach it.
* Keep it steady—avoid constantly turning it up and down.

Heat pump controls vary, so knowing how YOUR system works makes all the difference.

We talk a lot about how warm your home feels, but what about the air you’re breathing?

Today, Eric and Dylan are in St. Thomas at Greg and Jill’s new home, giving their comfort a serious upgrade!

We’re installing a new Lennox high-efficiency furnace, along with a Premier One Polarized Media Air Cleaner and a Fresh Air 3-Bulb UV Light, putting indoor air quality front and centre.

As the temperatures drop, the windows close and our homes get sealed up for winter, it’s a great time to give your indoor air some attention, too.
