About Orkin

Our story begins in Richmond, Virginia, when a young migrant, Otto Orkin, launched his own rodent control company.

His local business grew quickly and by the 1930s, Orkin begun tackling termites too. He soon expanded, opening up neighbourhood services across the US.

Together, our K9 teams use specialized scent detection, training and teamwork to help identify pest activity where it matters.

In this video, Brittany and Hippo are putting those skills to work at Furniture Bank, showing the focus and teamwork that go into every search. 🔍

With Hippo set to retire in a few months and Brittany planning to adopt him, every search is especially meaningful for both of them. We’re proud of the important work they’ve done together and excited for the next chapter.
