Firewood and Landscaping materials suppliers in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. We started with 8' firewood.

Founded in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia, Barrett Enterprises has been a family operation since 1973, focusing on wood fibre harvesting and adding value to forest products. As the demand for firewood increased, cut and split firewood was introduced to the community and the name Barrett Firewood was adopted in 2007.

Drop in pick up hours at our retail yard at 242 Beaver Bank Road are changing and starting this weekend we will be closed on Sundays. We remain fully stocked with all of our bagged and bulk landscape products, and have lots of firewood. Payment options are cash or debit.

10/28/2026

UPDATE: While the retail yard is still without power we have modified our point of sale unit to operate without wi-fi until we are reconnected to internet so payment using debit is possible. Repairs are underway and we hope to be back to normal on Monday or Tuesday.

Due to an incident on the Beaver Bank Road, we have no power at our retail site at 242 Beaver Bank Road. While we have been in contact with Nova Scotia Power and have left a message with our electrician, we have no way of knowing when power will be restored to our site. This will not affect our ability to process firewood for scheduled deliveries, but if power is not restored before 4 o'clock we may not be able to accept debit payments during our drop in pick up time (4-5) as our internet connection is down and our point of sale unit is not currently set up for mobile use. Cash sales will still be possible and receipts can be provided.

For those with smaller stoves or inserts, we have some dumped 12 inch long firewood available for pick up now at our retail yard at 242 Beaver Bank Road, and there will likely be more available after October 21st as that is our regular 12 inch processing and delivery day. As always, we have lots of 16 inch wood available for pick up also, along with both bagged and bulk landscape products. Payment options at the yard are cash or debit.

While the retail yard at 242 Beaver Bank Road will be open regular hours on Saturday and Sunday, both the retail yard and the office will be closed on Monday, October 12th for the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.

Both the office and the retail yard at 242 Beaver Bank Road will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labour Day, with the office reopening on Tuesday, September 8th. Please note that while firewood production and deliveries will be happening as usual this week, Tuesday through Friday, we are not fully staffed in the retail yard so if you need to pick up firewood or landscape products you will need to make an appointment through the office (902-252-3137) and we will make arrangements for someone to meet you at a mutually convenient time. We will be open as usual on Saturday, September 12th from 10 until 4 and on Sunday, September 13th from 10 until 2. We are actively seeking additional staff so that our regular weekday retail hours can resume.

Due to the weather, both the firewood processing and the retail yard at 242 Beaver Bank Road have been closed for the day today (Friday, September 4th). There was a glitch with our office phone system this afternoon (Friday, August 28th) and several messages disappeared before they could be transcribed. If you left a phone message today and do not hear back by noon tomorrow at the latest, please do call again! We always return calls promptly and are very concerned about the missing messages. Based on the messages we were able to retrieve, the missing ones came in between 11:25 and 2:10 today.
