Alberta’s first Shake Shack has officially landed at CF Chinook Centre 🍔

Delivered within one of Calgary’s busiest retail environments, this fast-paced build required precision, coordination, and careful ex*****on from start to finish. BUILD IT supported the delivery of this landmark first location, helping bring an internationally recognized brand into the heart of the city’s retail landscape.

We’re honoured to have brought this first Alberta location to life, contributing to a new addition in Calgary’s evolving food and retail scene.

BUILD IT has completed the interior transformation of the new .care clinic in Calgary’s Seton Urban District.

This project came to life through a close partnership with the clinic’s visionary founders, Dr. Daniel McClair & Shannon Gervais, alongside the exceptional design talents of , this custom fit-out delivers maximum operational functionality without sacrificing patient comfort.

A key gateway in Banff has been renewed to better support the flow of people, service, and daily operations.

BUILD IT has completed the revitalization of the Banff Transportation Depot, rethinking the space to improve how it functions behind the scenes while enhancing the experience at every touchpoint.

Every element was considered through the lens of durability, usability, and long-term performance in a high-traffic setting.

The depot now returns to service as a more resilient and streamlined hub for the community and travellers alike.

is one of those spaces that changes character depending on the time of day, coffee in the morning, wine bar energy by night, and continuing to feel like a welcoming, safe space for everyone who walks in.

From a build perspective, it’s the kind of project where the details matter just as much as the concept. Flexible lighting, warm material choices, and thoughtful flow between service moments all work together to support that seamless shift from café to wine bar.

And if we’re being honest, it’s also the kind of place where you go in for “just a quick coffee” and somehow end up staying much longer than planned.

Famoso Heartland is built around a standout feature, the signature pizza oven that anchors the guest experience and brings energy to the space.

From a construction perspective, our focus was on preparing the environment to support it properly. That included coordinating around ventilation requirements, ensuring clearances were met, and aligning mechanical and finishing details so the installation could sit seamlessly within the overall design.

Our role was to deliver a space that supports both the functionality and flow of a busy restaurant, allowing key features like this oven to take centre stage exactly as intended.

Looking back at this project, it’s incredible to see how it has become such a cherished space in the community. We had the privilege of completing it back in 2020, and even six years later, it continues to bring people together over  great food.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to keep contributing to , we’re now working on our fifth project in the building. We’re excited to share more details soon and look forward to creating spaces that people will love for years to come.
