It was a beautiful day for the entire region from Squamish to Chilliwack to gather and enjoy each others company, hiking in Mundy Park and playing a fiercely competitive round of disc golf (🤣).

We get so busy in our day to day lives that it felt good to take a day just for our teams and spend it together. Real connection, being active, enjoying what the west coast does best. Amazing team!

Can a renovation really give you the look of a brand-new custom home? This White Rock project says yes.

What used to be a dated house with small, cramped rooms is now a bright, open family home, and the original structure never came down.

Here’s what changed:

- A vaulted living room, built by removing and rebuilding the roof An open-concept kitchen made for entertaining
- Custom finishes: oak cabinetry, quartz counters, a travertine fireplace
- Folding glass doors opening to a rebuilt deck with ocean views
- A rooftop deck that takes in the full panoramic view
- A primary suite and powder room, both redesigned from scratch
- A floating staircase leading to a fully transformed lower level

Thinking about renovating instead of rebuilding? This one’s worth watching.

Most people assume a budget is an estimate. Our partner in White Rock/Surrey treats it like a commitment.

Christopher Stiles is a Partner and Project Manager at Alair White Rock/Surrey, and budgeting is where he genuinely excels. He builds numbers the way a site gets built: with precision, contingency built in from the start, and constant communication with everyone involved. When a project gets complicated, his first move is to step back, look at it from multiple angles, and bring in the right people’s knowledge before making a call. That approach, paired with full disclosure at every stage, is part of why he’s earned 61 five-star Google reviews and stays in contact with most of his homeowners long after the build is done.

Coffee in hand, he says hello to everyone on site before anything else gets started.

He grew up in White Rock, and on weekends you’ll find him at Campbell Valley Regional Park with his wife and their Greyhound, Benji.

The relationships built here tend to outlast the projects.

This 1970s home is getting a third-storey loft — but when our team opened up the foundation, we found the original build had nothing underneath it to carry the existing load, let alone a new storey.

The fix: underpinning. We’re excavating in sections, forming, and pouring new concrete footings beneath the existing foundation to give this home the structural base it should have had 50 years ago.

It’s not the glamorous part of a renovation. It’s the part that makes everything above it possible.

Planning an addition on an older home? Start with what’s under it. Our team can help you find out what you’re working with before you commit to a design.

Jason started BMX racing at 44. That tells you something about how he approaches new things.

As a partner at Alair Whistler/Squamish, Jason came up as a carpenter and still brings that ground-level perspective to every build. His approach with clients is deliberate: act as an advisor, focus on the next step, and don’t get ahead of the process. After watching his own wife get lost in technical conversation during their home renovation, he made a shift. He calls it talking “plain vanilla” now. If not everyone at the table is following along, something needs to change.

Some projects leave a mark. An oceanfront build on Bowen Island is one of them. The ferry rides were worth it.

Off the clock, he’s probably at A Frame Brewing in Squamish, or letting his kids load up on curly fries from Flipside next door.

One word a past client would use to describe him: friend.

Building connections. Sharing stories. Growing together. 🤍

Yesterday, our Regional Business Development Manager, Ashley, had the opportunity to join the HAVAN Women’s Council meeting, where she shared her journey into the residential construction industry and the path that led her to Alair.

The room was filled with incredible women who are helping shape the future of our industry through leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting one another.

At Alair, we believe that the best projects, and the strongest communities are built through meaningful relationships. We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect, learn, and collaborate with such an inspiring group of professionals.

Thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s event such a great conversation. We can’t wait for the next one!

✨ Here’s to building more than beautiful homes, we’re building lasting connections.

Joy looks good on our team.

This June, Alair Homes teams across the country are celebrating what living better really looks like, not just in the homes we build, but in the lives we live outside of them.

Some of our team came together to celebrate this month, and the energy in this photo says everything. The rest of the crew didn’t make it into frame, but trust us, the joy runs deep across the whole team.

Good sleep, easier mornings, more time outside. Your home has more influence over these than most people realize.

Most of the decisions that shape how you feel in your home get made at the design stage. Where the morning light lands. How air moves from room to room. Whether the layout gives you a quiet place to read, stretch, or simply step away.

This is wellness architecture: combining building science with thoughtful design so your home actively supports your sleep, your habits, and your daily rhythms.

June is Wellness Month at Alair, and all month we are exploring practical ways your home can work harder for your well-being. From restorative sleep design to cleaner indoor air to kitchens built around how you actually cook and gather, every choice adds up.

When this Squamish family moved in, the dining room was the one space that needed a refresh. Our team worked with Estelle Agency of Design to transform it: floor-to-ceiling botanical wallpaper wrapping all four walls, a custom-built L-shaped banquette sized exactly to the nook, and a solid oak dining table to anchor it all.

We work with homeowners across the Sea to Sky corridor — Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, and beyond. If you have one room that needs to catch up with the rest of your home, let's talk.

Pique Newsmagazine is known for covering the people, projects, and culture that define the Sea to Sky corridor — and we're proud to see Alair Homes Squamish recognized in their 2026 Georgie Awards feature.

Two wins for Arrowhead, a custom home on Bowen Island: Best New Small-Scale Home up to 1,000 sq ft, and Best Custom Home valued between $1.5M and $2M. Thank you to the team at .inc for being such outstanding design partners on this build.
