What makes them special? The raw material of Unex Cable Trays and Ladders has been formulated to offer excellent corrosion and weathering performance, backed by over 45 years of experience in outdoor installations.

New Trunking 93 in U48X, aluminium colour: more options for evolving spaces.

We are expanding our range of Trunking 93 in halogen free U48X material, previously available only in white, with a new aluminium-coloured finish.

This new addition combines architectural integration, technical performance and the use of materials with recycled content.

✅ U48X material: halogen free, with a 100% recycled thermoplastic component.
✅ Greater finish durability: the aluminium colour is incorporated directly into the material during extrusion, providing greater resistance to rubbing and cleaning compared with painted finishes.
✅ Installation flexibility: suitable for surface mounting or flush mounting in walls and furniture, facilitating cable distribution and the integration of switches and sockets.
✅ Secure fixing: Unex adapters for socket outlets provide a resistance to wrenching of 81 N, meeting the requirements of EN 50085-2-1.

This new version broadens the specification options for offices and workspaces, where electrical and communication services need to be integrated and installations must adapt to changing layouts and requirements.

Metal vs insulating material: how the cutting result changes.

In this video, we compare the cutting of a traditional metal strut channel with that of an insulating strut channel, clearly showing how this detail directly impacts installation safety and quality.

The Unex Insulating Strut Channel 60, made from halogen-free insulating material U48X, allows for a clean, burr-free cut. This prevents potential damage to cable insulation and contributes to greater protection for both people and the electrical installation.

A practical example that highlights how material choice influences safety, ease of installation and maintenance compared to metal solutions.

Every project has its own requirements, and in a winery, the electrical installation has to adapt to a very particular environment.

At Massuria, in Villafranca del Bierzo, there were several important factors to address: the regular presence of water and moisture, people’s safety, ease of cleaning and maintenance, and the integration of the installation into a space where aesthetics also play an important role.

In this video, the client, engineering team and installers explain why they chose Unex solutions and what they have brought to the project.

The Insulating cable tray 66 provides a solution for the different cable routes in the production area, the Floor boxes 52 provide flexibility and accessibility in the offices, while the Trunking 93 meets the specific requirements of the laboratory.

But the project also highlights the value of less visible aspects: planning cable routes in advance using BIM, having accessories that make installation easier, and being able to rely on our team when unexpected challenges arise on site.
