25 years. Hundreds of projects. Thousands of hours. One incredible team.

On Friday evening, SeaKing Group welcomed employees, customers, suppliers and industry partners to One Fine Day in Liverpool to celebrate 25 years in business.

Founded in 2001, SeaKing has grown from a specialist marine electrical engineering business into a trusted engineering partner supporting projects across the marine, defence, industrial and offshore sectors.

The evening was a chance to reflect on the journey so far, celebrate long-standing relationships and recognise the people who have helped shape the business over the last quarter of a century.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone and to all those who have played a part in SeaKing's story over the last 25 years.

Here's to the next chapter.

Best of luck to Tom Leyland this Sunday!

This weekend, our colleague Tom Leyland will be taking on the London Marathon in support of the The Paul Lavelle Foundation, a Wirral charity raising awareness of domestic abuse towards men and supporting those affected.

It’s an incredible challenge for a brilliant cause, and we’re proud to see one of the SeaKing team stepping up to support such an important local organisation.

Wishing Tom the very best from everyone at SeaKing!

Inspiring future careers at Ridgeway High School

Earlier this week, Michael Rollings (Rolly) and Adam Johnston represented SeaKing Group at Ridgeway High School, Birkenhead, taking part in their Encounters with Employees event.

The team delivered two separate one-hour sessions to Key Stage 3 students (aged 12–14), helping give young people a better understanding of the world of work, different career pathways, and the opportunities available across technical industries.

Michael shared his own career journey, from the Royal Navy, through BAE Systems, and into SeaKing, including insight into apprenticeships and the route into becoming an electrician.

Adam spoke about his own path through university and into the world of IT, giving students another perspective on how different careers can develop.

The sessions finished with a Q&A, giving students the chance to ask questions and explore the different routes into engineering and technology.

A great opportunity to support early careers awareness and help inspire the next generation.

A great piece of feedback for our on-site QA team following a recent LRQA audit at Ferguson Marine (Port Glasgow) Limited

'SeaKing has demonstrated a robust and collaborative system and process, effectively addressing FMPG requirements through excellent communication with customers and the involvement of key authorities.

Their exemplary approach to process risk management, particularly following a records issue, highlights their commitment to quality.

Moreover, discussions concerning LOTO authority and operator safety during commissioning and testing activities have been notably positive, further underscoring FMPG supplier selection as identifying the right sub-contractor for the job.'

National Apprenticeship Week 2026

This week we’re proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week and recognise the apprentices across SeaKing who are learning, developing and contributing to the business every day.

At SeaKing Group, we believe investing in apprentices is an investment in our future.

We currently have 12 apprentices, all at different stages of their training, supported through Hugh Baird College (Liverpool) and TTE Technical College (Ellesmere Port).

When the apprentices are not in college, they’re gaining hands-on experience on a wide range of projects, including work on vessels, MoD platforms, commercial ferries, and the new Mersey Ferry currently under construction at Cammell Laird.

A huge well done to all of our apprentices, your progress, attitude and hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Recent shore power works completed in Málaga, Spain

SeaKing Group recently completed shore power upgrade works on a vessel in Málaga, supporting the removal of legacy equipment and installation of a new shore power converter system.

The scope of works included removal of existing steelwork and mounting structures, along with redundant power cabling from the original shore converter installation. The team installed new high-capacity power cables to meet the requirements of the replacement converter, routing and securing cabling within restricted space conditions on board.

Works also included preparation and termination of all power cables into the new converter, followed by full continuity and connection testing from shore supply input through to the vessel switchboard.

SeaKing supported the shore converter OEM during commissioning and testing, including verification of control and interlock signals between the shore supply, switchboard and generator systems. Functional testing covered remote generator start and stop, circuit breaker operation and shore supply changeover.

Final testing included controlled transfer between ship and shore power, with successful changeover in both directions. The system was commissioned and handed over following completion of all tests.
