Phantom Leak Solved! 🏠

This chimney had been causing a persistent leak that no one could seem to track down. After a thorough inspection, we identified the real culprit – the chimney flaunching had failed, allowing water to pe*****te.

We removed the old, damaged flaunching and replaced it with new, correctly installed flaunching, ensuring the chimney is now fully weatherproof.

Another job completed ✔️

This chimney stack was in need of some attention after years of wear and weather exposure. We carried out a full flaunching repair to restore stability and prevent water ingress, safely removed built-up moss, and renewed the lead work to ensure long-lasting protection.

Another ridge line repair completed ✔️

This one had failing, dusty mortar along the ridge which had started to break down and lose its strength. Left like that, ridge tiles can eventually become loose and cause bigger problems.

We removed all ridge tiles, cleaned everything up properly and then rebedded them using the correct ratio of sand and cement to ensure a strong, durable finish that will hold up against the weather.

Doing the job properly makes all the difference when it comes to keeping your roof secure and long lasting. 💪

Another EPDM flat roof replacement completed 👌

This roof had old perished felt and rotten decking, so it was definitely time for a full replacement. Everything was stripped back and we installed new 18mm OSB decking, followed by a high-quality EPDM rubber membrane to give the roof a clean, seamless and long-lasting finish.

EPDM can sometimes get a bad name, but in reality that usually comes down to poor installation. When it’s fitted correctly and not by an incompetent “roofer”, EPDM is one of the best flat roofing systems available.

It’s ideal when used in the right places such as dormers, garages, garden rooms and other free-standing buildings, giving you a seamless, durable and watertight roof that’s built to last for many years.

🔨 Another Restec 20/20 Roof Underway 🔨

Progress on the latest job 👌

Currently waiting on the final decision for the roof light so I can complete the upstands properly and get everything finished to the right standard.

This one has been joined into an existing GRP roof, creating a 50mm gully running towards the internal through-wall outlet. The aim is to minimise pooling and guide rainwater away efficiently 🌧️

It’s the small details in the preparation and design that make a big difference to the long-term performance of a roof.

More updates to come once the roof light decision is made and the upstands are completed. 👌

🔨 Roof Progress on the Extension! 🔨

The tiling is complete, and the GRP Restec Flexitec 20/20 is now installed on one of the flat roof sections of the extension. Almost all of the GRP work is done! Once the skylights are in and everything is finished, the roof will look incredible! 😎🏠

🏡✨ HERITAGE ROOF STRIP & RE-TILE – DONE RIGHT IN HOLTON ST MARY ✨🏡

Another challenging but rewarding project completed in Holton St Mary — and this one really put our skills to the test.

We carried out a full strip and re-tile using beautiful Bridgewater Romans to match the character of this stunning period property. These tiles aren’t straightforward — they’re delicate, uniquely profiled, and demand precision. One wrong move and breakages mount up. That’s why we stripped the tiles and ridge carefully one by one minimising damage and keeping costs down for the customer.

But that wasn’t the only challenge…

🔸 The new tiling had to line through perfectly with the opposite roof slope
🔸 The original ridge tiles are an unusual and distinctive shape, meaning they had to be refitted in a very specific way to keep everything symmetrical and true to the building’s heritage
🔸 The age and fragility of the materials meant patience and experience were essential throughout

We completely removed the old rotten felt and battens and upgraded the roof with:

✔️ New breathable membrane
✔️ Treated 50mm x 25mm battens
✔️ Over fascia ventilation to improve airflow and help cure condensation issues
✔️ New lead work to chimneys and valley
✔️ Careful reuse of original tiles and ridge to retain the authentic look

This is what traditional roofing is about — preserving character while delivering modern performance.
