Our team was flat out at the turn of the year, with three new projects starting and another four already ongoing.

This was the very beginning of one of our private residential projects, which involved around 90% of the existing building being demolished, along with a full internal strip-out.

We managed to get started in December, which gave us the opportunity to get ahead of the programme before the main works really began.

There is a long way to go from what you see here. We’ll take you through the journey of this property as the client’s vision begins to come to life.

Milton AFC now have their brand-new locker room, and it’s already being put to good use! ⚽️

It’s always great to be involved in projects that give something back to the local community, particularly when investment and funding is going directly into grassroots clubs and creating better facilities for the people who use them every week.

A fantastic addition for Milton AFC and one we’re proud to have played a part in delivering.

Steel in the air and the extension taking shape. 👷‍♂️

A big milestone at Cromlix as the structural steel went up in October and the scale of the new extension really started to become clear.

Plenty still to do, but great to see months of planning, groundworks and coordination beginning to rise out of the ground.

It was all go every month at Cromlix , but October saw the arrival of the steel 👷‍♂️

Groundworks were progressing in the courtyard, the timber kit was going up at the main compound, and we had begun stripping out the Wellness building ready for its own transformation.

All while battling the Scottish weather, with one clear target in mind, steel up, glass in and the main extension watertight before Christmas 😅

These images take us through the early stages of forming what would soon become The Garden Room, Cromlix 's new restaurant extension, alongside the hotel’s new state-of-the-art commercial kitchen.

From clearing and reducing ground levels to excavation, drainage and service routes, reinforced foundations and concrete pours, the footprint of the new extension was beginning to take shape.

Again, all of this was taking place while the hotel remained fully operational around us 😅

It’s amazing to think that while all of this was going on back in September, Cromlix was still fully operational.

In reality, this was only the tip of the iceberg. Before the foundations were marked and dug out, before the concrete was poured and before the steel frames started going in, there was a huge amount of work happening behind the scenes.

But before any of that could happen, we had to clear the way first.

These images take us right back to the early stages of our Cromlix project.

The old compound area was cleared and prepared for what would become the hotel’s main service compound, housing the new firewood store, water compound and LPG tank storage. At the same time, we were screening and separating work areas from guest zones, allowing the hotel to continue operating while works progressed safely around it.

From service trenches and concrete slabs, structural framing and final formation, our team was working simultaneously across two key areas of the project, developing the new compound and its supporting infrastructure, while also managing works in and around the live hotel environment and preparing the foundations for the new extension.

It’s easy to focus on the finished article, but these are the stages that make everything else possible.

It’s always good to look back at the milestones that shaped a project and see just how far it’s come.

The work people don’t always see is often what makes the biggest difference. The planning, coordination and preparation behind every stage are what allow complex operations to be carried out safely and efficiently.

Here we’re looking back at the preparation for the arrival of the Bison slabs, followed by their installation onto the new extension. This marked a major structural milestone and the first step towards the build-up for the sedum roof system.

Every stage builds on the last, and it’s rewarding to see it all come together.
