When an installation is complete, it is rarely the end of the relationship with a customer. Because once we have built that trust, they will then return to us time and time again for servicing and any additional installations or repairs that are required.

This particular customer, based in Cambridge, originally approached us way back in 2018 to fit an NIBE air source heat pump and cylinder. We have been trusted to service the system ever since. Last month they contacted us again to discuss installing an air-to-air system, and after a number of conversations to discuss options, James returned to complete the job.

Today we are doing a bit of jargon-busting. You may have heard the term Retrofit before, so today we are explaining what it actually means…

A retrofit is the process of replacing your existing fossil-fuel heating system with a low-carbon alternative, usually an air-source or ground-source heat pump. In most cases, your existing radiators, pipework and hot water cylinder location can be reused or adapted, which keeps disruption to a minimum and the install cost down.

We’ve been retrofitting heat pumps into existing Cambridgeshire homes since 2011, from Victorian farmhouses to 1970s bungalows and modern detached properties. Each system is designed around your property, not from a template, so it is a totally bespoke service!
