A brilliant evening spent CalmSpace with Sea Biscuit Sauna at their Solstice event. Swinging in hammocks, outdoor crafts and a guided sauna as well as cold plunge bath and shower. Such a beautiful venue and great company!

These relaxed monthly sessions offer the opportunity to take part in planting, weeding and general garden maintenance while spending time in a peaceful and supportive environment. Whether you have green fingers or simply enjoy being outdoors, everyone is welcome.

NO MOW MAY
No Mow May has turned into No Mow June with different wildlflowers springing up including clover, oxeye daisy and ajuga. Fudge the cat is enjoying the longer grass!

PLANT OF THE WEEK
Trilliums, also known as wake robin, are late spring flowering perennials with three petals sitting on top of three leaves. They are easy to grow in the right conditions but slow to establish but are then long lived. Like peonies, they are best planted and left to establish over a number of years.

Trilliums are perfect planted between shrubs in a border that provide both shade and shelter from the wind. Alternatively, a shady border against a wall or fence is a good location. They prefer a neutral to acid soil but will grow successfully in a good fertile soil that is rich in organic matter and does not dry out. They do not like to be grown in containers.

FORGET ME NOT GARDEN
Maintenance day MISS Forget Me Not Garden where there have been some recent updates. A new entrance sign to the garden has been installed as well as some mushroom ornaments in the lawn. The wildflower meadow installed by kernj.com is also starting to flower with meadow turf supplied by . Summer colour has also started in the borders with nepeta and allium in fulll flow!

We’re excited soon to be starting work on the East Garden Labyrinth Project at St. Mary’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral in Aberdeen. This is a truly unique and prestigious project that will create a beautiful space for reflection and community use, while respecting the rich history of this remarkable landmark.

A special mention goes to David Chouman Architect, whose vision, attention to detail, and thoughtful design have brought this project to life. The plans carefully blend heritage, architecture, and landscape design to create a stunning labyrinth garden that complements the character of St. Mary’s and enhances the surrounding environment. We are proud to be working alongside David and the wider project team to transform this vision into reality.
