Work is moving on at our Wigan sprinkler pump room installation. ⚡

This week’s focus has been on bracketry and cable containment, getting the supports and routes in place ready for cabling.

That work will continue into the start of next week before we begin installing cables.

Plenty still to do, but good to see the installation taking shape. Thanks to the lads for their efforts — more updates to follow! 👍

📍 Lincolnshire today, where our inspection identified a faulty, unmonitored trace heating controller.

A useful reminder of why pre-winter checks matter. Having trace heating installed is only part of the picture — the controls and heating circuits need to operate correctly when temperatures fall.

Without fault monitoring connected to an attended location, a failure can go unnoticed between inspections, potentially leaving pipework without frost protection.

At Power Tech, we help clients identify these issues through trace heating inspections, fault finding and thermal insulation surveys, with repairs and controller replacements where required.

If you’re responsible for a sprinkler system or commercial site, now is a good time to check your winter protection.

🔧 Sprinkler pump house inspection carried out in Lea Green today.

Regular inspections provide an opportunity to review the condition of the installation and identify maintenance needs before the colder weather arrives.

Pump room heating, trace heating and thermal insulation all deserve attention as part of winter preparations.

If your site needs support with these areas, get in touch with Power Tech. 👍

⚡ Trace heating installation underway in Pangbourne today.

Our engineer made good progress installing trace heating to the available pipework and fitting the controllers.

With some pipework still to be installed, we’ll arrange a return visit to complete our works once everything is ready.

A few progress photos below — more to follow when we’re back on site. 👍

Who doesn’t love a blank canvas? ⚡

Our team is on site in Wigan today, starting a large electrical installation for a fire sprinkler system.

The pump house is looking a little empty at the moment, but there’s plenty to keep our engineers busy as the installation takes shape.

We’ll be sharing progress updates over the coming weeks — watch this space! 👍

❄️ A little preparation now can make a big difference when winter arrives.

Our team has been carrying out thermal insulation repairs to external pipework at a production facility in Stalybridge, helping reduce heat loss and protect against the colder weather.

Damaged or missing insulation can leave pipework exposed, while gaps in the outer covering can allow moisture in and reduce its effectiveness.

It’s a good time to check the condition of your insulation and get repairs planned before temperatures drop.

For thermal insulation repairs, surveys and winter preparation, get in touch with Power Tech.

Cold mornings are on their way… ❄️🔧

A look around a sprinkler pump house in Coalville, where the team have been busy with pre-winter checks.

Making sure the heating and frost protection are ready for the colder months — and catching any little problems before they become big ones. 👊

Another installation for the Power Tech team this week, fitting a Zonecheck key switch at a shopping complex in Corby. 🔧

The unit allows the sprinkler system’s water-flow alarm to be tested using a small circulating pump—without discharging water or opening a sprinkler head.

A practical addition that makes routine testing easier for the site team.

An early start for our engineers in Durham this morning. 🌅

Working within a planned maintenance window at a distribution centre, we completed the electrical works for an additional jockey pump serving the site’s fire sprinkler system.

The site requested a second jockey pump to provide backup should the existing pump fail, helping maintain system pressure.

Our electrical work is now complete, with the mechanical team following on tomorrow to carry out their part of the installation.

A coordinated approach between trades, keeping the work moving around the site’s operational requirements.

A fresh start in Shildon today for the Power Tech team. 🔧

We’re working alongside the mechanical team as they install a second diesel sprinkler pump, with Power Tech carrying out the associated electrical works.

Our scope includes:

• Supplying power to the new diesel pump controller.
• Connecting the alarm signals to a new panel in the manned gatehouse.
• Reconfiguring the fan and louvre wiring and installing a new controller so the ventilation operates when either diesel engine runs.
• Relocating the existing jockey pump controller to make space for the new pipework.
• Installing trace heating and thermal insulation to the new pipework.

The project will progress over the next few weeks, and we’ll share updates along the way.

Good communication between trades makes all the difference — coordinating each stage, keeping work moving and delivering a tidy installation together.
