Not the cheapest — just done properly.

🚨 WHY CAN TWO PLASTERING QUOTES BE SO DIFFERENT?

You’ve had two plasterers quote for the same room, but the prices are miles apart. Why?

It isn’t always because one is expensive and the other is cheap.

The quotes might include different things:

🧱 Preparation – What needs doing before plastering starts?

🛡️ Protection – Are floors and working areas being protected?

🔨 Repairs – Are damaged or loose areas being dealt with?

📦 Materials – What’s included in the price?

🧹 Clean-up – How will the working area be left?

A cheaper quote isn’t necessarily a bad quote, and a higher price doesn’t automatically mean better workmanship.

THE IMPORTANT THING IS KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE PAYING FOR.

💙 Hopefully you found this useful.

“I ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING NOT UP TO MY STANDARD… BUT BEN DID A REALLY GOOD JOB, FAULTLESS.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now that’s a review I’m particularly proud of! 🙌

Another lovely 5-star Google review following a recent bathroom drylining and plastering job.

What means the most isn’t just that Matt was happy with the finished work.

It’s that he took the time to mention the professionalism, tidiness, punctuality and communication too.

Because when you’re inviting someone into your home, you should be able to expect all of those things — not just a good plaster finish.

A massive thank you for the kind words and for trusting Trusted Touch Plastering with the work. Really appreciated! 👍

A LITTLE BATHROOM JOB WRAPPED UP… 👌

Another one completed at Trusted Touch Plastering!

This time it was a bathroom window wall, taking it from plasterboard through to two coats of finishing plaster.

🔹 Wall drylined with plasterboard
🔹 Window reveals beaded
🔹 Joints scrim taped
🔹 Two coats of plaster applied

I’ve included a few photos showing the different stages, with the final trowelled finish pictures still to follow. 👍

Nice to get another job completed while we’re getting everything organised for the larger Hartford project you’ve already had a sneak peek of! 🏠

Give the page a follow if you haven’t already — plenty more to share as things progress. 👀

🚨 A GOOD FINISH SHOULD BE THE MINIMUM YOU EXPECT FROM A PLASTERER.

Of course the finished plaster matters.

But when you’re letting someone into your home, there’s more to a professional job than smooth walls.

You should also expect:

🏠 Respect for your home
🛡️ Proper protection
🧹 Clean and tidy working
⏰ Reliability
💬 Clear communication
🤝 Honest advice
⭐ Quality workmanship

Plastering can be messy work — but your home should still be treated with care and respect.

So when choosing a tradesperson, don’t just ask:

“CAN THEY DO THE JOB?”

Ask:

“CAN I TRUST THEM IN MY HOME?”

💙 Hopefully you found this useful.

A FEW MORE CEILINGS TICKED OFF THIS WEEK… 👌

Good progress on this property, working my way through several different areas, including the hallway, bedroom, bathroom and bay window ceiling.

Some straightforward. Some a little more awkward. All getting the same attention to detail.

I actually enjoy jobs like this where there’s multiple areas to get stuck into. You can make a proper difference to the property rather than just being in and out for one small repair.

Still more to do, so I’ll share the finished results once everything comes together. 👍

If you’ve got several rooms, multiple ceilings or a larger plastering project you’ve been thinking about getting sorted, feel free to send me a few photos and I’ll happily have a look.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE EXPERIENCE I WANT EVERY CUSTOMER TO HAVE. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the first message and quotation, right through to completing the work and leaving the house clean afterwards.

Really appreciate Arthur taking the time to leave this review. 👍

The bit that means the most?

“Will book again for future jobs!”

That’s what I’m building Trusted Touch Plastering around, doing a good job, looking after people’s homes and becoming the plasterer they’re happy to call again.

If you’ve got a room, several rooms or a larger plastering project coming up, feel free to send me a few photos and I’ll happily take a look.

🚨 ELECTRICS OR PLASTERING FIRST? GETTING THE ORDER RIGHT CAN SAVE A LOT OF HASSLE.

If you’re renovating and having new sockets, switches or lighting installed, the electrical work will usually happen in stages.

⚡ First fix normally comes before plastering.

This is when cables are run and back boxes are positioned while the walls and ceilings are still accessible.

🧱 Then comes the plastering.

The walls can be repaired, boarded or skimmed around the electrical boxes as required.

⚡ Second fix follows once the plaster has dried sufficiently and the project is ready for the electrical accessories to be fitted.

That’s when switches, sockets and other fittings are installed and the electrical work is completed and tested as required.

Planning the trades in the right order helps avoid unnecessary cutting or damage to newly finished walls.

FIRST FIX → PLASTER → SECOND FIX

Simple when it’s planned properly.
