Independence, family and a home that feels like a holiday every day.

When Michele’s daughter moved near Sidmouth, it created the perfect opportunity to bring the family closer together. But Michele still wanted her own space, routines and front door.

Her Norwegian Log annexe gave her exactly that: a bright, comfortable and beautifully made home in the garden, close to her daughter and grandchildren while still allowing her to live independently.

Inside, the home is full of warmth and character, from the natural timber walls and vaulted ceiling to Michele’s much-loved sewing room, where she creates costumes for the local playhouse.

For Michele, it offers the best of both worlds: family nearby, privacy when she wants it and a home that feels entirely her own.

As she says: “I feel like I’m on holiday every day.”

A peaceful garden sanctuary, hidden in the heart of Watford.

Created by Richard and Anne for Anne’s sister, Gloria, this Norwegian Log home was designed to offer the perfect balance of independence, comfort and family closeness.

Tucked behind soft greenery, wildflowers and carefully designed garden spaces, the cabin feels worlds away from the busy roads nearby. Inside, vaulted ceilings, large windows and Gloria’s treasured keepsakes create a home that feels spacious, personal and deeply comforting.

For Gloria, it has become a peaceful new chapter. A private retreat surrounded by gardens, wildlife and familiar faces, with family close by whenever she needs them.

Site inspection, Compton Dando edition 🐑

Groundworks are officially underway in North East Somerset… and the local planning committee has arrived early.

Two very serious inspectors on-site today, keeping a close eye on levels, spacing, and overall standards. No corners cut. No hay overlooked.

Adventure comes in many forms… and sometimes it arrives on three wheels.

We were proud to sponsor Liz, one of our Norwegian Log cabin owners, and her daughter Jen as they took part in the “Wheels of Chaos” Nicaragua Tuk-Tuk Challenge. Over ten unforgettable days they drove a tiny three-wheeled tuk-tuk across hundreds of kilometres of Nicaragua, travelling through volcanoes, lakes, beaches and colourful colonial towns while completing daily challenges along the way.

Their tuk-tuk even carried the Norwegian Log logo along for the ride, which made it all the more special for us to follow their journey from afar.

The adventure may now be over, but the impact continues. Liz and Jen took on this challenge to raise money for some truly worthwhile causes, and donations can still be made if you would like to support them:

Log Cabin Installer – Full time
📍 Site-based role working on projects across the UK

Join Norwegian Log and help bring beautifully crafted solid-log homes to life. This hands-on position involves assembling and installing premium log cabins on sites nationwide, working as part of a skilled team delivering projects ranging from family annexes to holiday accommodation and bespoke lodges.

The role includes:
• Installing and assembling log structures on sites across the UK
• Reading drawings and working to high build standards
• Supporting site preparation and build coordination
• Working collaboratively with the installation team to deliver quality builds

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has carpentry or construction experience (preferred)
• Holds a valid UK driving licence (required)
• NVQ Level 2 or higher in a relevant trade (preferred)
• Is practical, reliable and detail-focused
• Is willing to travel and stay away when required

This is a long-term opportunity with progression into senior installer and team leader roles as Norwegian Log continues to grow.
