Nearly there, and just in time for the new school year!🏫

We're putting the finishing touches on a small refurbishment project, with the electrical package including:

⚡ Cat 6A data
💡 Lighting
🔧 Dado trunking
📐 Thorlux smart lighting and control

Smaller projects like this still need the same care in planning and coordination as our larger works. Getting it finished ahead of term starting means no disruption once pupils and staff are back.

Looking forward to seeing this one complete!👏🏼

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴'𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴? 🔌

New equipment often means new power requirements, whether that's 3D imaging technology in a university lab, catering equipment in a new-build kitchen, or extra server and AV loads in a growing office.

The mistake we see most often isn't a lack of power. It's power that wasn't designed around the equipment's actual demands: load, containment, distribution and spare capacity.

We recently finished a project at Millennium Point where new 3D imaging equipment needed dedicated, properly specified power supplies alongside the wider electrical package. Getting the design right from the outset made the installation straightforward and the handover clean.

Another site visit, another reminder of the scale of this one!🏗️

We're on site at BoBen Construction Ltd , delivering the full electrical package across 25 luxury new-build homes. CAD-designed electrical drawings, feature lighting, power, AV, solar with battery backup and full security systems, every home gets a properly designed spec rather than a standard fit-out.

It takes a design team who can keep pace with 25 plots moving at once, and a site team who know exactly what's landing in each one!👷🏼

Really proud of how this is coming together. More updates as the development progresses.

Delivered a week ahead of programme. 👏

We've just wrapped up our electrical package at Millennium Point for the University of Birmingham's new Reimagining Engineering Block, and we're proud to have handed it back early.

The scope included:
⚡ New Thorlux smart lighting and control
🔌 Busbar-fed floor sockets and data
💡 Dedicated power supplies for 3D imaging equipment
📐 78 x Cat 6A data points serving lecterns, AV screens and lecture theatre technology
🏗️ Full power distribution
🔧 Complete NICEIC test certification throughout

Projects like this need real coordination between design, programme and site teams to land early rather than just on time. Great to see it finished, tested, and ready for the next intake of engineering students.

Beautiful lighting, perfectly positioned sockets and neatly installed controls might be what you notice when you walk into a completed building…

…but some of the most important electrical work is the part you'll hopefully never see again!⚡

Behind walls, above ceilings and throughout containment systems sits the infrastructure that keeps everything working.

That's why we're just as particular about the parts of an installation that get covered up as we are about the final finish.

Neat cable routes.
Correct containment.
Careful labelling.
Quality connections.
Attention to detail at every stage.

Once the plasterboard goes up, much of that workmanship disappears from view – but its importance doesn't.

On larger commercial projects, involving the electrical team during the planning stages can make a significant difference to how smoothly everything comes together.

It also means potential challenges can be identified while they're still relatively easy to solve – rather than once walls are up, equipment has been ordered or other trades are already on site.

We've worked on projects where our involvement begins with little more than an idea and a set of plans, and it's incredibly rewarding seeing those initial conversations develop into the finished installation.

We've shared plenty of exciting JRP projects recently, from new builds and commercial developments to specialist installations – but none of them happen without the team behind them.

Working across different sites, adapting when plans change, coordinating with other trades and maintaining high standards when deadlines are tight all takes skill, experience and a lot of teamwork!⚡

We're incredibly proud of the people who represent JRP on site every day and the part each of them plays in maintaining the reputation we've built since 2009.
