The next major phase of Pure DC's £1bn+ digital infrastructure development is now underway at Brent Cross. 🏗️

Glencar has commenced piling works for the West Shell of Pure Data Centres’ 70MW LON01B2 facility, marking the start of the final major build phase at its Brent Cross campus in North London.

It’s a project of significant scale.

LON01B2 will add more than 23,000 sq m to the development and, once complete, take the campus to 90MW total capacity - providing next-generation infrastructure capable of supporting high-density AI inference and cloud workloads.

Glencar is delivering the West Cold Shell, encompassing piling and foundations, underground services, structural frame, concrete and slab works, stair cores, envelope and roofing.

Delivery is taking place within a live operational data centre campus, with multiple construction and fit-out activities progressing simultaneously - requiring detailed logistics, sequencing and coordination between our team, Pure DC and the wider project team.

And scale isn’t the only notable feature.

🌿 Once complete, B2 will be wrapped by one of the world’s largest living walls, incorporating more than 750,000 plants to support biodiversity and help reduce noise and air pollution adjacent to Brent Reservoir’s Site of Special Scientific Interest.

With the first piles now in the ground, the structure is the next major element of this significant development to begin taking shape.

Progress Update | Trehus, Maidenhead

A bird’s-eye view of the latest progress at Trehus, as our team continues to move this landmark commercial development forward.

The mass timber structure is now defining the building, and activity is progressing across multiple workstreams.

🏗️ Façade works advancing
🪟 Window installation progressing
⚙️ MEP first fix underway across all levels
🛗 Lift installation progressing
🔨 Internal works moving forward

Behind that progress is the careful coordination of a highly design-led build.

The HESS TIMBER structure, CLT floor decks, natural stone façade and building services are all coming together within a six-storey commercial office development with ambitious environmental targets.

Working closely with HUB, Smedvig, Waugh Thistleton Architects and our specialist supply chain, Glencar is translating that design and sustainability ambition into a high-performing workplace.

Great to see Trehus taking shape from above!

🏗️ Progress continues at our Warrington Motorway Service Area project, where Glencar is delivering a major new development for Extra MSA at Junction 11 of the M62.

Set across approximately 15 hectares, the scheme will provide a new motorway service area incorporating amenity buildings, retail provision, fuel facilities, parking and supporting infrastructure, with direct connections to the motorway network.

📍 The latest drone images give a great overview of progress across the site.

Recent milestones include completion of the Phase 3 main structure and installation of attenuation tank 1. Backfilling to attenuation tank 3 is now 90% complete, excavation of tank 2 has reached 90%, and the HGV Phase 2 handover is also at 90%.

🔧 Elsewhere, foul drainage works are continuing within the amenity building, the foul tank and concrete surround are progressing well, and column encasement works to Phase 2 are underway.

👏 A strong snapshot of the progress being made by the team as this strategically important development continues to take shape.

Logistics has long been fundamental to the UK economy. Now, it has a clearer voice within Government.

The decision to formally include Logistics within the title and remit of the Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Logistics is an important recognition of the role the sector plays in keeping businesses moving, connecting markets and supporting economic growth.

For those of us working across the industrial and logistics sector, its importance has long been clear.

The logistics infrastructure we create today needs to support an industry that is evolving rapidly – responding to changing supply chains, increasing demands for resilience and productivity, and the transition towards a more sustainable, lower-carbon future.

At Glencar, we’re proud to play our part, working with clients and partners to deliver modern, sustainable, high-performing industrial and logistics facilities across the UK.

Greater recognition of logistics at Government level is a positive step. The focus now must be on ensuring the sector has the infrastructure, investment and long-term support it needs to continue driving UK growth.

The MOD's £26bn Project Royal Oak programme is another clear signal of where long-term investment is heading.

A decade-long commitment to upgrading the UK's naval infrastructure has the potential to create significant opportunities across the construction sector, particularly in regions with established engineering expertise and skilled labour.

But delivering programmes of this scale won't simply be about capacity.

It will require contractors, clients and supply chains to work differently; embracing greater collaboration, smarter delivery and technologies that improve certainty, speed and productivity.

That echoes the themes discussed recently at the Lockton panel event, where our ESG Director, James Scott, highlighted the growing influence of defence investment, AI and automation on the future of construction.

As the sector evolves, success will belong to those who can adapt quickly, build the right partnerships and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

⛳ Proud to support the DC Golf Classic 2026

We’re delighted to be joining industry colleagues at The K Club on 1st September as a Bronze Sponsor of this year’s Mitchell McDermott DC Golf Classic.

More importantly, the day will be raising vital funds and awareness for two incredible charities – Barretstown and the Children's Health Foundation – supporting seriously ill children and their families.

We’re looking forward to a great day of golf, catching up with colleagues from across the industry and supporting two fantastic causes. 👏

A fantastic fundraising effort from the team at our London Leyton Logistics Hub project. 👏

The site team recently organised a charity raffle in support of Dementia UK, raising more than £1,445 through ticket sales and generous donations from across the project.

With additional funding from the Glencar Foundation, the final total reached an incredible £2,445.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to our supply chain partners for generously donating prizes and contributing directly to the fundraising:

Westcoat | Falcon Green | Envirolec Smart Energy Solutions | Churchill Scaffolding Limited | AF Connell Ltd | AAA | GeoRoof Limited | Vipen Construction | Stortford Tiling and Marble Ltd | Entex Projects | Multitech Site Services | ATE | AFC M&E | ICAT Logistics

The raffle featured some brilliant prizes, including Tottenham Hotspur tickets, gift vouchers, a hamper, a golf day and plenty more.

A great example of what can be achieved when our teams and supply chain come together to support an important cause.
