Experienced with doors and windows? Looking for something more varied than just fitting?

SheffLOCK is looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join our team, covering South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire.

This role is ideal for someone with practical experience in:

Door and window fitting
Door and window repairs
Hinges and hardware
Multipoint mechanisms
Adjustments and realignment
Fault finding and practical repairs

You do not need to know everything — but you do need a strong background in the door and window industry, good practical ability, and a willingness to develop your repair skills.

This is also a customer-facing role, so we are looking for someone professional, reliable, friendly and confident dealing with customers.

What we offer:
£30,000–£40,000 salary depending on experience

A real garage door gain entry and lock replacement completed in Malin Bridge. 🔐

The existing garage door lock was checked first before entry work began. Once access was gained, the handle mechanism, spindle connection and lock area were inspected.

The replacement lock was then fitted, the handle alignment was checked, and the garage handle was tested to make sure the new lock operated correctly.

The bollard was inspected first, then the top section was opened so the internal mechanism could be checked properly.

The spring, lock, fixing points and release mechanism were assessed for wear, rust and movement. The base area and ground socket were also checked to make sure the bollard could operate as it should.

You may not need a whole new window.

Misted, cloudy or failed glass can make a home look tired, affect visibility and reduce comfort - but it does not always mean the full window needs replacing. 🪟

In many uPVC windows, the glass unit sits separately inside the frame. So if the frame is still sound, the smarter option may be to replace the failed glass unit rather than replacing the whole window.

That means less disruption, less unnecessary cost, and a cleaner finish.

But the full window should still be checked properly.

The frame, hinges, handles, seals and mechanisms all work together - so a good repair looks at the whole window, not just the glass.
