🚨🛣️Road Closure and suspension of one way: Hall Bank, Pontesbury

PLEASE NOTE ADDITION OF SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY

Purpose: Footway Widening - Pedestrian Improvements Scheme - including culvert works & streetlighting.
The one way system will be suspended from the top of Hall Bank to allow access to the Coop/Medical Practice etc. This will be managed by site operatives.

😁Good News
Pontesbury Play area refurbishment is complete, you can now go and play on the new equipment and the parish council are organising an opening afternoon on Friday 21st August from 3pm onwards. On 21st August, as well as parish councillors and staff, the supplying company, Sutcliffe Play, will also be onsite too with goodie bags and the local ice cream van, Ell’s Ices, will be there. Everyone is welcome, bring along your picnic blanket, a picnic, your own drinks, etc and let’s have a great afternoon celebrating the new play park.

🤨Bad News
It is really unfortunate that Pontesbury Parish Council have to report that within days of the toddler play area being open, with the new equipment ready for the under 5s to play, that some young people have already vandalised a piece of equipment. The rainmaker has been hacked open and ball bearings used to fire with a catapult at play equipment across the park. Two 14-15 year old boys were seen doing this. Regrettably the parish council have taken the decision to remove this piece of equipment for the time being.

So we please ask everyone to be vigilant, it you seen anyone in the play area causing criminal damage, please do report it to 101. The parish council have reported this criminal damage to the Police and we ask that you all do the same please.
