At HRG we understand the importance of getting your tree/ground work projects off to a winning start

Watch the whole job in 20 seconds.

An ash tree in a garden in Totton had split through its main stems, leaving it unstable and too risky to leave standing. Our team attended as an emergency call-out.

We sectioned the damaged stems down in a controlled way, felled the remaining tree and cleared the site. The garden is tidy and safe to use again.

Split and storm-damaged trees rarely get safer with time. If you have a tree you are worried about, call us on 02382 440473 and we will advise you properly. 📞

I can not rate this company enough, we had a tree that was dying but had a preservation order against it, HRG came out to complete an assessment, dealt with the council for us to gain approval for the removal and then did an exceptional job when removing the tree. Very polite, considerate and cleared and cleaned everything up. A really first class service.

Our new MEWP in action on a commercial site in Chichester. We are reducing a line of mature trees, working from height rather than climbing.

The platform gives our team a stable, controlled position right where the cut needs to be made, on trees that are tall, closely spaced, and awkward to climb safely.

Same careful, considered approach. Just another way to reach the work safely.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁.

A grab lorry fitted with a Palfinger loader crane, and a 25m MEWP that reaches well above roof height.

The crane lets our team load large sections and green waste straight from site into the lorry, rather than carrying it out by hand. That means less time on site and less disruption for you.

The MEWP gives safe, stable access to trees that are awkward to climb or sit close to buildings, roads or power lines, without needing spikes on trees we are not removing.

Same team, same standards. Just faster and safer on the jobs that call for it.

One of our customers in Southampton wrote in after we finished a recent job for them:

"Your team have now finished the job. I don't think we could praise them highly enough. They went about their work efficiently and respectfully. The finish is better than we hoped and they left the site clear of debris. We didn't even know they had left."

The job included reducing a section of laurel to around 9ft and reshaping it, along with removing a self-set sycamore, with the site left fully cleared. Feedback like this, on the small details as much as the finished work, is exactly what we aim for on every job.

We recently removed a conifer from a front garden in Totton, including full stump grinding and root removal.

Once the tree was down, we ground out the stump and the major roots, then cleared all the waste from site. The border is now clear and ready to be replanted or landscaped however the homeowner chooses.

The customer got in touch afterwards to say the team were "fantastic, polite, friendly, professional" and did a great job. That is exactly the standard we aim for on every job, big or small.

Excellent service all round. The tree needed re-shaping and cutting down to a manageable level for us. From the first point of contact, everything was explained with cost etc. Lads were very polite and helpful and gave advice on how to look after the tree in the future. All cleared and tidied up after. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The last few mornings the team's been at the yard for Team Leader training, not chainsaws or rigging this time, but ownership, responsibility and accountability, and what good supervision actually looks like on a job.

Investing time in the people running our teams day to day is how we keep the same standard whether it's a back garden in Southampton or a site with twenty people on it.

We have replaced our full fleet of chippers with five new Forst ST8s, all covered by a three-year manufacturer warranty.

The old machines were four years old and had done a lot of work. Replacing the whole fleet at once means every team goes out with reliable, safe kit from day one. When a machine needs attention, Forst handles it under warranty, so there is no waiting around and no impact on the job.

For our clients, that means faster clearance, tidier sites, and crews that can focus on the work rather than working around ageing machinery. 🌳

A 100-foot Giant Redwood, standing only a few metres from the front of a recently renovated home in Chilworth.

The roots had been growing under the property for years, causing subsidence and structural damage to the house. The client had large glass windows across the front and had just completed a significant interior renovation. Conventional rigging was not an option. Any section falling or swinging could have caused serious damage.

We brought in a 60-tonne crane and a 30-metre MEWP. The tree came down in controlled sections of up to 5 tonnes each, lifted clear of the property with every single cut. Groundboards protected the block-paved driveway throughout. The stump was ground below ground level.

Down and cleared in a single day. Not a scratch on the property. 🌲
