(For the zoomers…yes there are some creases in the ceiling, under the paper, that after consulting with the client we decided to leave alone. Reason - it’s an original lath & plaster ceiling and the client did not want to risk having the whole thing need re-boarding etc)

How long to paint out a 3 bed detached ? Basic prep - 3 coats on walls as they were grubby - doors downstairs from wood to painted, same on Spindles…. Be honest 😉

A very effective horizontal luxury metallic wallpaper install today on behalf of the talented 🔥

Planning was key with this install to maintain equal dimensions, and clean / sharp lines and angles around the window - blessed with some pretty straight / level walls for a newly finished property !

Things don’t always go to plan….

Especially working on old substrates !

So….this door was re-furnished a few weeks ago and after a message from the client that some blisters had appeared - back I went to investigate.

After opening up the blisters I was greeted with sap….the door - despite being an original, had heated up and the sap from the knots had pushed through. Now none of these were visible after sanding and the door coatings were solid…but due to the colour change, the door is now getting warmer than before - causing the sap to bleed through.

The fix 🤞🏻 - Sanded back to bare, sealed with Zinsser UK BIN on the effected areas…re-primed, filled, sanded & re-finished

Impossible to predict, but it’s the response that matters & that’s the reality of the job, it’s not always plain sailing

JUNO Paints UK Hydro-Cril… what you get here is a super concentrated product which at a 1/4 mix ratio gives you a huge 20ltrs from a 4ltr Tin.

If you use Gardz or Peel Stop, Juno Hydo Cril is an alternative - and as a bonus, Hydro Cryl is also exterior rated for sealing / stabilising exterior surfaces prior to receiving masonry paints etc !
