✨ WE ARE HIRING ✨

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Office Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to go full-time role for the right candidate.

Working Hours: Wednesday-Thursday 08:30-16:30 and Friday 08:00-16:00 (flexible)

We are a well-established carpentry and crane hire business operating across two companies. This varied role offers the chance to support both sides of the operation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic working environment.

Duties include:
- General Administration, Office, Employee & Subcontractor Support
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the office and ensuring it remains organised and efficient
- Providing administrative support to teams across the business and fulfiling duties including filing, data input and record management
- Responding to internal and external enquiries professionally
- Monitoring office supplies, stationery, and consumables, placing orders where required
- Supporting company social media activity
- Booking cranes and assisting with scheduling
- Processing subcontractor invoices, employee timesheets and working alongside our accounts team to ensure payments are made in a timely manner
- Keeping employee and subcontractor records, qualifications and compliance information up to date on internal systems
- Apprentice Support Including: assisting with onboarding, acting as a key point of contact, providing day-to-day administrative support, liaising with training providers and colleges regarding progress, attendance, and requirements, supporting the administration of test and assessments, managing annual leave bookings, monitoring attendance and timekeeping, tracking fuel allowances, ensuring apprentices remain on track with their programmes and escalating concerns where appropriate

What We’re Looking For:
- Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn
- Previous administrative experience is essential
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office

It’s National Apprenticeship Week and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate the amazing apprentices helping to shape the future of carpentry and joinery 🔨✨

We currently have 13 apprentices working hard towards their Level 2 qualifications and it’s fantastic to see their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to learning. We’re passionate about supporting the next generation of skilled carpenters and love watching them grow in confidence and ability.

A special shoutout to our second-year apprentice, Kyan, who was recently featured in NSCG’s magazine to inspire others to apply for the course, such a brilliant achievement! Kyan was also awarded Apprentice of the Month late last year, recognising his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and determination to always do his best. These are qualities we see in all our apprentices and we’re incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

A big thank you as well to our talented mentor carpenters who share their knowledge every day. Your support is helping to shape the next generation of great carpenters.

🎄 Merry Christmas from all at M.E. Bishop Carpentry 🎄

Santa applied for a job as a carpenter this year, but after being asked to fit a shelf and turning up with an elf instead, we thought it best he stuck to toy making so we sent him back to the North Pole 🎅😄

Before we sign off, we’d like to give huge shoutout to our brilliant carpenters for all the hard work, skill, and dedication they’ve shown throughout the year - it doesn’t go unnoticed and we couldn’t do this without you all!
